Man, what the hell does John F’in Kerry continue to smoke? Sen. Mark Dayton (D-MN) introduces Shrillary at a rally in his home state. Two days later, Kerry approaches Dayton with ”daggers in his eyes.”

And the reaction from Shrillary’s office? “Boys will be boys, even when they are senators.” Talk about smokin’ crack, that’s what! Please! Dems! Do! Continue!

USA Warns N Korea May Be Preparing Nuke Test
Fri Apr 22 2005 16:14:38 ET

The U.S. has quietly warned China that North Korea could be preparing for a nuclear-weapons test and asked the Chinese to urge Pyongyang to desist, according to a U.S. official.
In what the U.S. official characterized as an “emergency demarche,” or diplomatic communication, delivered to Beijing Thursday, Washington said that, in light of recent North Korean words and actions, a test could be in the works.
The WALL STREET JOURNAL reported Friday evening: The demarche also says that the U.S. believes the North Korean nuclear program is advanced enough that a test could come with little or no warning.
Another official said the U.S. test fears also were being conveyed to South Korea and Japan, in addition to Beijing. Christopher Hill, the U.S. assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, is scheduled to visit all three countries next week.
In addition, the U.S. official said that spy satellites have observed heightened activity at missile sites as well as “at various suspect sites” in North Korea where it is believed underground tests could be carried out. But the official acknowledged that it is difficult to divine the true intent of that activity.

Developing…

Keep praying real hard that this does NOT come about.

Social Engineering BS

So now, the wise powers that be at Sesame Workshop have decreed that Cookie Monster can only eat Cookies SOMETIMES.
WTF! This is yet another sign of political correctness run amok. Changing Cookie Monster’s reason for being (I won’t bother using the French phrase here, sorry!) is as bad as telling Swedish Chef he has to cook other stuff besides swedish meatballs.

Besides I don’t know what’s worse: this, or Ving Rhames playing Kojak. Don’t get me wrong, I like Ving Rhames as an actor (he’s quite funny sometimes, especially when he was doing the Radio Shack commercials)...but Kojak was Greek through and through. Who knows where it will end?

I am nerdier than 85% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!
I never admitted otherwise...I’m a Nerd!

And While I’m At It…

Not bad, considering I haven’t watched Star Trek on a regular basis for nearly 10 years! It’s gotten too politically correct, that’s why! And I stopped watching for the most part when TPTB couldn’t even get Tuvok’s blood the right color!
Are you done gasping for breath yet?

Getting Back At Sheriff Joe

Filed under: | The 48th State

Last summer, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and DA’s Office had a little disagreement regarding the actions of Joe’s deputies ”sampling the goods” of some prostitutes during a sting operation...before the arrests were made!
Now the DA is getting back at Joe...by deciding not to prosecute Army Reserve Sergeant Patrick Haab for holding Illegals at gunpoint:

Thomas says Sergeant Patrick Haab did not commit a crime and was making a lawful citizen’s arrest when he detained six illegal immigrants and the man smuggling them....
Thomas says Arizona citizens have the right to make a citizen’s arrest if either a federal or state felony offense has been committed in their presence, or if they believe the person they intend to arrest has committed it.

HEAR HEAR! That’ll teach ya Joe for opening your mouth and saying we Arizonans DON’T have a right to conduct a Citizen’s Arrest!

What Do I Speak?

In case anyone was wondering, here’s my “linguistic profile:”

60% General American English
15% Upper Midwestern
10% Dixie
5% Midwestern
5% Yankee

What Kind of American English Do You Speak?

Hat Tip: Amritas

UPDATE: Nearly 24 hours after I take this “test” I notice it doesn’t add up to 100%. Hmmmmm...well I’m not about to retake this test just for the sake of 5 extra points. I can chalk that up to my “cosmopolitan” exposure to many different languages, not just English.

POPE BENEDICT XVI

As I told some of my Catholic friends today...I feel somewhat unreal about this, but they understood it was not in a bad way at all. May the Roman Catholic Church go forward into the future, unafraid, with this man at the helm. A lot of Christians of all denominations will be praying for you, Your Holiness.

UPDATE: You too can e-mail the Pope!

Finally.
The Italian Government has finally fulfilled its promise to Ethiopia in returning the Axum Obelisk to it’s rightful place.
In 1937, Mussolini took their national treasure back to Rome after his troops overran Ethiopia as a prize of war. I cared about it because it symbolized a culture which goes back to Biblical times. And I used to live not to far from Axum!
Man, I wish I could go back there and see the places I lived in when I was younger. I know it won’t be the same, but still....

And I Thought Scarface Was Bad

Filed under: | Bread and Circuses

I had heard about the HBO Series ”Deadwood”...and then I heard about its prolific use of the F word. Now I’m not so sure. No wonder people are getting more and more pissed off about the language on TV (no matter if it’s on network or cable) these days.

Star Wars: Revelations Now Available

Click on the poster above to go to TheForce.net and you better have high-speed. There is only ONE version available, in Quicktime format...and it’s 250MB!! I will post a review in about 2 hours from now.

UPDATE: 1818 MST - Star Wars: Revelations is indeed an amazing labor of love. George Lucas does let others play in his sandbox as long as said players don’t make money off it. But when people have a dream and are willing to sacrifice much in order to follow it, it shows. This independent fan film is the brainchild of Shane Felux and the hundreds of volunteers (including an entire Stormtrooper regiment: the 501st!).
George Lucas may provide the major episodes...but it will be people like those who worked on this 40-minute film who will fill in the holes. I am sure he has already seen this film...and quite likely blessed it, much like he supposedly did with Troops.
My only question now is: How fast can these guys make a DVD image available?

Nevertheless...Go and Download this film NOW. The Macker Commands It!

Hot on the heels of his father’s second marriage...word now comes that Prince Harry has failed an information technology assessment prior to entry into Sandhurst (the UK’s Royal Military Academy). Not good news considering that Prince Harry has had as much exposure to today’s technology as his older brother.
I have no idea, but perhaps Harry might want to brush up on what the Blue Screen of Death is...he’ll see those no doubt!
Gimme that Spinning Beachball of Death any day of the week!

Conclave About To Begin

Something tells me the world is gonna slow down a whole bunch come Monday, when the College of Cardinals for the Roman Catholic Church enter their Conclave in order to choose the next Pope. The Saddam New York Times is reporting that Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany has become a leading candidate.
However...one must keep in mind an Italian proverb which goes something like this: “He who goes into a conclave a Pope comes out a Cardinal.”

And to think this man should know better...he obviously doesn’t.
Salman Rushdie, he of The Satanic Verses fame, thinks what we’ve done in fighting back against the terrorists only serves to unite them (and the rest of the world) against us.

Mr. Rushdie, what do you expect us to do...bend over and grab our ankles? HELL NO! I have no respect whatsover for a religion which espouses jihad and hatred for the Infidels. We will FIGHT for our lives, and if you don’t like that, too damn bad! Remember, you still have that fatwa on your head!
