“Ladies and Gentlemen, we got him!”

Saddam Hussein was captured at 12:30 P.M. Eastern Time on Saturday, December 13, in a raid on a farm located near the village of Adwar, near Saddam’s hometown of Tikrit. He did not put up a fight and no shots were fired. 600 soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division, 1st Combat Brigade, and other Special Ops forces, took part in Operation Red Dawn. In addition to DNA tests, former Iraqi minister Tariq Aziz helped positively identify Saddam.
What does this mean? Well, the Iraqi people finally will be able to live without the fear of his return breathing down their necks! They will put him on trial for what he and the Ba’athists did to their country, and will very likely execute him for said crimes. I don’t blame them one bit.
Some of the reactions from around the world…and my comments on each:
“Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!”
– Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (D-CT).
I hope he can pass the ammunition now too.
“The Iraqi people can finally be assured that Saddam Hussein will not be coming back – they can see it for themselves.”
– White House press secretary Scott McClellan.
And we will keep our word that we will stick around until the job of securing Iraq for freedom and democracy is over!
“I expected him to resist or commit suicide before falling into American hands. He disappointed a lot of us, he’s a coward.”
– Mohammed Abdel Qader Mohammadi, a Yemeni teacher.
Maybe he was just tired of running. You can see it in his eyes.
“What the Americans are doing in Iraq and everywhere else is humiliating. There’s nothing to say we’re not next in line.”
– Samer Saado, a Syrian jeweler, in Damascus.
Tell your boy Bashar Assad to clean up his act and we just might spare your country. That goes for Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Arab world too!
The lies of the liberals can no longer stand. Saddam is captured and the War on Terror continues. And watch for the markets to rally big time tomorrow!
