Senate Donks Back Down…For Now

Filed under: | Axis of Donks | War on Terror

Looks like some type of pressure, from their right-minded constituents perhaps, is prompting Senate Democrats to reconsider their revocation of the 2002 authorization they gave to President Bush to go in and take care of Iraq (and Saddam). What’s their excuse for backing down? First of all, they were considering an amendment from Senators Carl Levin (D-MI) and Joe Biden (D-DE) to tack on the deauthorization to a domestic security bill. Here’s what Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI), one of the more rabid members of the Senate, came up with for a bulls**t excuse:

“The idea is not to do it on this bill because of the concerns of the 9/11 survivors and families.”

See, the Donks are too chickens**t to stand up for their real constituents, the MoveOn.org moonbats, who got them elected in the first place. They don’t want to be seen as the Anti-Troops/Anti-War/Anti-America/Anti-Israel/Anti-Semitic b*st*rds that they are.
Too late chumps!

YO Joe!

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who follows Arizona politics: former Massachussetts Governor Mitt Romney’s selection of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio as the honorary head of his Arizona campaign for President. Sheriff Joe spoke with Fox News and told them:

“The first time I met the governor at a private meeting, first thing he said was ‘How’s the pink underwear doing?’
...“I like him. He’s a man of principle, of good character. He did a great job in Massachusetts and I feel he’s going to make a great president.”

Considering how Blue Taxachussetts is, that should say someting about Romney, who will not be touring the Maricopa County Jail facilities. See, there’s a jinx: four other Republican Presidential contenders have done so and they lost. Including Senator Lettucehead.

Duck and Cover, Israeli Style

Filed under: | War on Terror

It sucks, but it’s gotten to this point again for the Israelis. They had to perform drills when Saddam threatened to lob Scuds on them back in ‘91. Now with Ahmadinejad ratcheting up the rhetoric, they have no choice but to proceed with national nuclear and chemical attack drills.
When will we take care of business…or should that be pleasure? This is getting ridiculous.

Camino 1.1 Beta

Yay! This latest release of Camino was this past Friday. You can get it here. Remember, if you prefer stability, then go for 1.0.3.
One major feature in this update involves the pop-up blocker now empowering the user (that’s you) to allow a pop-up one time only, always, or never. In addition, it now supports Kerberos security and will warn you if the site is different than when you initially registered your password. It also allows restores of windows and tabs from an unexpected quit.
Lots more goodies…these are the ones which stand out for me. Go get it.

HA HA HA! The Oscars pulled the Goracle off-stage before he could “announce his candidacy,” by way of striking up the orchestra. I guess he wanted that golden statuette in his hand so bad, he couldn’t wait any more now that he’s a de facto member of the Film Actors’ Guild, “Now because I have this big d….I mean this big Oscar in my hand, I know what’s best for you! Of course I knew that when I was Vice President.”
Meanwhile, the Iranians keep goin’ on...Mr. Dinner Jacket insists their “atomic train” has no brakes. See that barrier up ahead? That’s the Americans and Israelis, that’s where your train wreck will occur.

Still In A Fightin’ Mood

Filed under: | Personal | War on Terror

Today, I went to a Gun Show at the State Fair Grounds. I was absolutely amazed at all the equipment (firearms, ammo, and accessories) on sale there, both new and used. I say this in a positive manner, because the way things are going lately, I’ve begun to entertain the thought of actually purchasing a firearm for personal/family/home defense, and learning how to use and maintain it.
I was supposed to go with my buddy John, but when I got to his house at 1330, he had already left. So I called him on the phone, asked for directions, and went there by myself. Perhaps I needed to go and see for myself just how helpful the merchants and other folks (all of whom believe in the Second Amendment) are.
And I did not want to leave the gun show empty-handed, so I got this:

Yes, another version of this classic. To my friends in Tucson: are you jealous yet!

It’s A Small World After All

Now this is an incredible twist of Providence if you ask me: an ancestral “relationship” between Al Sharpton and the late Senator Storm Thurmond, of all people….

NEW YORK — Genealogists have found that civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton is a descendent of a slave owned by relatives of the late Sen. Strom Thurmond, a newspaper reported Sunday.
The Daily News said professional genealogists, working at the newspaper’s behest, recently uncovered the ancestral ties between one of the nation’s best known black leaders and a man who was once a prominent defender of segregation.
“I have always wondered what was the background of my family,” the newspaper quoted Sharpton as saying. “But nothing nothing could prepare me for this.”
“It’s chilling. It’s amazing.”

Indeed. It really is a small world after all. It will be very interesting to see how else the Rev. Sharpton takes this news, which, if I read this correctly, he asked for some help. Will he utilize this revelation to help heal the nation’s wounds between the races, or will he use it to demand for more reparations? This is definitely worth following up on.

No Wonder He’s Called The Goracle

Filed under: | Axis of Donks | BS Patrol

For many, many years, Al Gore has been known in conservative circles as “Algore,” thanks to Rush Limbaugh. Now, thanks to his own disciples, he can be better termed “The Goracle.” Just in time too, because his film is about to win an Academy Award for Best Documentary…but it’s in the wrong category, according to Patrick J. Michaels over at NRO. While I admit that I like science fiction, the Oscars have not been kind to science fiction films in general. That is why the Goracle’s film has to compete as a documentary.
What gets me about this whole subject is this: thirty years ago, the media and pundits were howling about an impending global cooling trend, and even then thei claims being made were bogus. These folks can’t make up their minds…and are reaching for anything and everything to obtain global control. No wonder the UN loves them.

They Shot A Shahab Into The Air…

Let’s see what the Iranians are up to this time:

Iran hopes to launch four more satellites by 2010, the government has said, to increase the number of land and mobile telephone lines to 80 million from 22 million and expand the number of Internet users to 35 million from 5.5 million in the next five years.

All well and good, but why, if you want to increase the number of Internet users, do you implement thinband? And who’s helping them? None other than the Russians.
Nothing else to add to that; we all know how to add 2 plus 2.

It’s Razzie Time

Filed under: | Bread and Circuses

I know that I will not be watching the Oscars at all and you all know why. But I’m always curious as to which films will win the Razzies, which are announced one day before the Academy Awards. Here’s the Official Press Release...see for yourself, I ain’t about to spoil it for you!
Makes one wonder if these folks are also members of the Film Actors’ Guild….

Happy Birthday, Now Drop Dead

Guess whose birthday it is. Give up? Well, it’s our favorite DFC from Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, who turns 83 today, and promptly blames the UK and Europe for the total mess his country has become.
I’ll bet this son of a bitch who’s extended “permanent guest” status to another African DFC son of a bitch barely has enough wheeze power to blow out those candles on his birthday cake. When this guy goes, I hope Col. Mengistu also goes with him in the revolution that is sure to follow. Gee, do you think the world would celebrate a return to Rhodesia, given what Mugabe has put Zimbabwe through? Probably not. Can you tell I can’t stand Communists?

From the Latin, it means, “When cut down, it grows back stronger.”
Duke University’s lacrosse team adopted that motto, and is back in action, after being forced off the field for a year because of the bulls**t charges which are still pending against some of the players. They beat Dartmouth 17-11 today with a full-capacity crowd cheering their every move.
I hope they ride that motto all the way to the NCAA Championship, as a “FRAK YOU!” message to both the disgraced DA and the person who leveled the charges.

Time To Kill

Filed under: | Bread and Circuses

They. Have. Got. To. Be. S**ttin’. Us. Almost four and one half hours for a frakkin’ Oscars show? Good Lord. If this isn’t an exercise in self-indulgence for the members of the Film Actors’ Guild, I don’t know what is.
All they would need would be for the Head A**hole to show up, just like he did in Team America.

Yet Another Battlestar Spoof

Filed under: | Battlestar Galactica | Other Blogs

Ah, another day, another web comic. This one I didn’t stumble upon: “Frakking Toasters” was recommended to me over on HF (surprisingly, not from PA), which deals strictly with the show and various subjects such as “What would YOU do with Boomer?” or “How to Hit On A Cylon”...even Xena “cheating” on Gabrielle!
Check it out by clicking on the “Colonial Emergency Broadcast System” graphic.
