During a Congressional hearing yesterday, Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) questioned Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice about her agency’s policy on employing gays and lesbians. When Rice stated that Foggy Bottom doesn’t have a policy similar to the military’s, Ackerman continued:

“Good for you. Well, it seems that the military has gone around and fired a whole bunch of people who speak foreign languages — Farsi and Arabic, etc.,” Ackerman said, adding that after much money and time were spent to train the linguists and after they passed their security tests, “many of them told on themselves and were fired.”
“For some reason, the military seems more afraid of gay people than they are against terrorists, but they’re very brave with the terrorists. ... If the terrorists ever got a hold of this information, they’d get a platoon of lesbians to chase us out of Baghdad,” Ackerman said, receiving some chuckles from the audience.

i’m trying to picture this and all I get is a comic-book image…and yet it isn’t funny at all.

True to form, and in response to 25,000 online petition signers protesting the former President’s anti-Semitic book, Jimmy Carter angrily fires off a letter to the Simon Wiesenthal Center:

This ad hominem attack only goes to show that Jimmy hasn’t any more legs to stand on, because his “facts” simply do not stand up to the light of the Truth that it is the Arabs’ choice to continue terrorism against the Israelis:

“...the only reason there is no peace in the Middle East is because of Islamic extremists who refuse to compromise, not because of the State of Israel.”

Nothing like going after dead men who can’t defend themselves.
