So one of the al Qaeda detainees committed suicide at Gitmo. Fine. That’s one more we don’t have to take care of. Those of the Christian faith who believe suicide is a Mortal Sin know exactly where he is: getting smacked upside the head by Saddam. No Download City for him either.
Good riddance.

This might be acceptable in Southern and Eastern Asian countries, but it sure ain’t in the Western world. As far as I know that is.
And it sure will anger the Queen if you eat one of her favorite creatures…like this guy did. God, I ain’t about to quote anything on this story. Go to the link if you have the stomach to read it.
I barely did. I hope this guy puked it all up.
Debating on a blog or a forum where you are not in the majority can be quite a challenge. I admit it. Sometimes I lose arguments to the other side, even though I do not change my opinion about a subject; it just means that the other side had a better argument.
There are other times where I have a better argument, and sometimes the other side goes a wee bit too far in its counterattack. Such was the case last night in a thread where the recent retirement announcement by Cindy Sheehan was being discussed:

Former US Senator Fred Thompson has handed in his resignation to Dick Wolf, who issued the following statement:
“I’ve spoken to Fred today, and although he told me he has not made a firm decision about his political future, he felt that given the creative and scheduling constraints of the upcoming season, he asked to be released from his responsibilities to the show. I will sincerely miss working with him on a regular basis, and I obviously wish him the best of luck with whatever the future holds.”
Yes, I’m rubbing my hands with glee. RUN FRED RUN!

The first time I published about this development, I weaved it into the post about Adam Gadhan. Kinda like what I did with Saddam’s execution and Battlestar Galactica. Not this time.
The song I downloaded just now is one I’ve wanted for a long, long time but wasn’t about to buy the whole album, unless I absolutely had to. “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five” by Paul McCartney & Wings, from the legendary “Band on the Run” album. Since the files are twice as large and a buck-twenty-nine a pop, I won’t be buying a lot of these. For now, all the DRM-free tunes are in the EMI catalogue. Eventually the other labels will sign on.
Here is one of the Heroes who helped uncover the plot to attack Fort Dix. His name is Brian Morganstern. You know the Islamofascists and their supporters will go apes**t because of his name. As in, “He’s a JOOOOOO,” even though he may not be.
Although, according to the story, he did not make the ultimate decision as to whether this was or was not a threat, he did follow the Chain of Command. Even in the Real World, that’s an important thing to keep in mind. When he went to his superiors, it led to a 15-month investigation by the Feds, which resulted in the arrest of the Fort Dix Six…three of whom were Illegals...and not the most technologically savvy (HA! Stealing a line from ABC there…see the previous story) lot.
Good job, Brian. You Did the Right Thing.
After we capture, try, and convict him of course. I read the article Charles posted and I couldn’t help but snicker. He’s right you know.
This actually made me take a look at my own vernacular. You see, to this day, I refer to CDs and iTunes downloads (which, by the way, now offer DRM-free music via Version 7.2...thanks Hud!) as albums. It has to do with the era I grew up in, which was that 1970s. Old habits die hard.
Now back to the matter at hand: Note to Special Ops: I hope you find that traitorous little bastard soon!
My four-day holiday weekend is over, having taken a vacation day yesterday to tack onto the Memorial Day holiday. Here’s my schedule for the rest of the week:
• Wednesday: Work
• Thursday: Scheduled Off Day…Another appointment at the chiropractor. YAY!
• Friday: Work
What’d I do? Stayed home. Can’t complain, really.

Guess who issued Adolf Eichmann‘s passport? Before I answer that, allow me to remind you that he was one of the most virulent Nazis who escaped capture by the Allies, fled to Argentina, and lived for a decade in virtual immunity until the Israelis got wind of his whereabouts, kidnapped him and brought him back to Israel for trial. He was convicted and executed in 1962.
Lo and Behold! It was the International Committee of the Red Cross, known for their past attitudes of anti-Semitism. It wasn’t until last year they admitted Magen David Adom to the organization, along with the parallel acceptance of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, who transport terrorists and their weapons via ambulance. This doesn’t surprise me at all.
I find it ironic in a way that, a day after AoE JV member Comrade Chavez shuts down RCTV and protesters are doused with water cannon and rubber bullets…that he goes after CNN and Globovision (another Venezuelan TV network) for inciting his assassination (not that the DFC son of a bitch doesn’t deserve it…quite the contrary!), but doesn’t do the same against one other particular person who also had a hand in such an accusation.
Who would that be, you ask? Why, Pat Robertson of course, for his far-reaching quote from two years ago:
“We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don’t need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It’s a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with.”
Just slightly ahead of its time, that’s all.
Since Rosie’s writer saw fit to deface Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s photos over at ABC, Grouchy Old Cripple in Atlanta saw fit to deface Rosie…or was that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed?...or was that Ron Jeremy?

EEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW!

NeoCom Dictator For Life Hugo Chavez was looking for an excuse to start oppressing his people, and now he’s found it: the opposition marches supporting recently nationalized TV station RCTV. According to Gateway Pundit he’s sent in the tanks. There are multiple sources listed there, so this is not an isolated incident.
To the Venezuelan People! Your country is in distress, truly it is. NOW is the time to start to take it back from this Neo-Communist son of a bitch! Banging pots and pans will not do the trick. For those of you who can still communicate with the outside world, tell us what to do to help you out. The future of your country is now in your hands.
RISE UP AND FIGHT!

Today is the day we honor all those who have fallen defending this flag, the republic for which it stands, and our way of life, no matter whether that was during the American Revolution, the Civil War (the original honorees of this holiday), the World Wars of the 20th Century, or the War on Terror…and all the wars in-between…we honor them all.
In case you’re wondering where the flag comes from, it is available from the web site of US Representative Doc Hastings (R-WA, 4th District). I’ve taken the opportunity to create a special banner which I will “fly” during national holidays such as this.
And here’s a special video from LGF Reader Rides A Pale Horse:

Now here is a real historical find...the world’s oldest daguerreotype camera, languishing in a Munich apartment (which means it survived World War II!), until its present owners discovered it. Once it was authenticated as the world’s oldest camera of its type, it was sold at auction in Vienna for almost 600,000 euros (US$800,000).
Being the photography buff that I am, it would be absolutely amazing to see the types of photos this direct ancestor of modern photography took. Known daguerreotype images exist of Edgar Allen Poe and Abraham Lincoln, and I’m sure there are lots of others.
Here is the commercial that’s got Jack In The Box in legal trouble with the company Paris Hilton endorses….
What a Hoot! I think I’ll go there and try their Sirloin Burger out. And while you’re at it, go to the Fan Submissions.
