Another Webisode Series Coming Up

Now here’s some encouraging news for us Frakheads: another SciFi Channel webisode series which will reveal some interesting stuff. Think of this as “Back To The Future,” Galactica-style:

Written by Michael Taylor and directed by Wayne Rose and Felix Alcala, “these shorts will provide a sneak peek into the original Cylon War, when a young pilot named William Adama (Nico Cortez) discovers a dangerous Cylon weapon that will come back to haunt him and his crew 40 years later,” SCI FI revealed. They will also be included in the DVD release of “Razor.”

Now I like that last sentence; I still hope that Universal will include last season’s webisodes in the Season 3 DVDs.. And in any case, it’ll be good to see a peek at Husker’s early career.
Oh yeah, the article is geared more toward Farscape Fans, but that’s beside the point.

What a Way To Take A Dump

Two stories which can be filed under “No S**t!”...first, Kimberly-Clark has announced an automated toilet paper dispenser to limit the number of sheets one can get when wiping their bottoms. This should please Sheryl Crow.
Then in the same column, All Nippon Airways has fitted their new Boeing 787 Dreamliners with…bidets! Just think, pretty soon it’ll all come down to this:

Россия к США: Теперь мы ровны

Pooty’s never been able to live down the fact that we: 1) lawfully terminated our participation in the ABM Treaty six years ago, and 2) announced our intention to build ABM bases in Poland and the Czech Republic, two countries which were formerly behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War. So today, he gave six months’ notice that Russia will no longer observe the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty.
OK, is this an OMGWAGD moment? Of course not. Many international treaties have provisions which allow for nations to withdraw from such international agreements; the times vary from treaty to treaty. So Russia is only exercising its sovereign right to do this; besides, it’s not like they’re going to flood their western frontier with millions of troops and armor…their economy is in no shape for that.
Unless Pooty has some back-door channel to, say, Kamino?

Good Campy Fun

I spent most of today putzing around with icon designs for Camino. Then I took a break and a Saturday evening drive.
When I saw this DVD set on sale at Fry’s for 20 bucks, I couldn’t resist, so I snatched it up! I’m glad I did. Yeah, this is the late-1970s series starring Gil Gerard, which had quite a few notable guest stars during its run, such as Jack Palance, Gary Coleman, Frank Gorshin, Jerry Orbach, and Dorothy Stratten. It’s also notable for the fact that the Earth starfighters used were Ralph McQuarrie’s original vision for the Colonial Vipers.
So many of my contemporaries who watched this show hoped that, since the producer was none other than Glen A. Larson, he would have crossed over this show with the original Battlestar Galactica, with the latter finding 25th-century Earth and its stellar neighborhood, forced to join together to fight the Cylon threat. Alas, this was not to be.
Note to RDM: Please leave this series alone. It’s way too campy to modernize.

Note to President of France

Filed under: | War on Terror

Do the world a favor and release the report which details the cause of Yasser Arafat’s death. Since the Paleostinians are already killing each other, they might as well finish it off by this bombshell. Let me put it to you this way. One can no longer be sure that Arafat’s daughter really is his genetic offspring. Not unless Suha decided to take one for the team.
That said, the first line of my farewell haikus to the definitive terrorist takes on new meaning….
In other news: Yasser Arafat IS STILL DEAD.

It’s Friday The 13th

There are times when I just want to sleep in. This is one of those times. But I’m up now, so let’s get on with it….
Had dinner last evening with one of my friends. I gave him the two 512MB memory chips I used to have in my Official System before upgrading it to 2 GB. At least they will find a good home in his grandmother’s MacBook.
And I can’t believe I ate the whole 12-ounce sirloin steak! Man, I had to have been hungry. Anyway, let’s see what’s on the wires:

A WASTE OF CHICAGO: The premier food festivel of the Народный Социалистический Город-Государство Чикаго* has its first food poisoning outbreak in at least twenty years, involving Persian food. Bummer.

SO MUCH FOR ‘PEACE’: A Nobel Peace Prize Laureate says she would want to kill George W. Bush. What an idiot! I hope she got a quick visit from the United States Secret Service.

3 TOP DONKS TO CUT FIELD? Shrillary, Breck Girl, and Osama Obama apparently weren’t aware of an open mike…and schemed to reduce their rivals at future debates!

Badger Badger Badger

Filed under: | Humor | War on Terror

Quick! If you’re a resident of the city of Basra…run for your lives! The British have unleashed giant badgers loose upon the good townsfolk to terrorize them and keep them in line!

JUST KIDDING about the British part….just think, with some of the weird news over the last few days, pretty soon they’ll be able to film a live-action version of Badger Badger Badger!

Creature Feature: Sanctuary

The time: Now. The place: Old City…

WOW! was the first word I emanated when I saw the preview of this new digital High Definition series available only on the Internet, Sanctuary. It chronicles the adventures of Dr. Helen Magnus (played by Amanda Tapping), her new protégé Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne), and her daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup) as they find, rescue, and harbor strangely unique beings misunderstood by the rest of Humanity. Yeah yeah I know, a common theme on TV these days…but seeing as I’m an aficianado for retro and some horror flicks, I couldn’t resist checking this out.
Good thing too. What blew me away was the fact that not only the standard-resolution files are available for $1.99 each, High Resolution files are also available at 1280x720 and an extra charge. On top of that, they are DRM-free! As of this writing, 4 webisodes have been released.
Now if Universal can only do the same for BSG: The Resistance.

I Dare You To Smoke…This!

Filed under: | South of the Border

Wow man…COSMIC!
I guess I’m not old enough to know if there have ever been any other mushrooms which have grown to over two feet tall and weigh over 41 pounds…if there’s anyone who can beat this giant mushroom from the Mexican state of Chiapas, let me know…it’d be a great story while this is being consumed by those of you who do such things.

Third Time Not A Charm

Especially for this Muslim female juror wearing a hijab to a murder trial in London…and used the hijab to hide an mp3 player to listen to during the trial. Not only was she thrown off the jury (which went on to convict the defendant), she was arrested for contempt of court, and could serve up to three years in prison if found guilty:

The woman had allegedly tried repeatedly to avoid jury service. She managed to postpone serving when she received her first summons and successfully avoided serving a second time by claiming to have toothache. On the third occasion she asked to be excused so that she could attend a nursing course but was obliged to serve when she failed to provide details.

Now watch for MPACUK to come up with some bulls**t excuse to sue the court system there. I’ll bet it will have something to do with observing calls to prayer.

Snow in Buenos Aires

I wonder how long it’ll take till the Goracle and his minions blame this once-in-a-lifetime event on George W. Bush:

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) - Thousands of Argentines cheered and threw snowballs in the streets of Buenos Aires on Monday as the capital’s first major snowfall since 1918 spread a thin white mantle across the region.
Wet snow fell for hours in the Argentine capital, accumulating in a mushy but thin white layer late Monday, after freezing air from Antarctica collided with a moisture-laden low pressure system that blanketed higher elevations in western and central Argentina with snow.
“Despite all my years, this is the first time I’ve ever seen in snow in Buenos Aires,” said Juana Benitez, an 82-year-old who joined children celebrating in the streets.

Remember folks, it’s summer here and winter there; keep that in mind.

A Funny Prayer

Filed under: | Humor | Other Blogs

NO this is NOT my doodling capabilities! I saw this and laughed my a** off…especially in light of the fact that I recently came into possession of the movie it is based upon.

So if you want to see what prayer it is, click on the drawing. These guys are a riot!

Run-in With An Illegal

Saturday morning, as I was running errands, I stopped by the gas station across the street to put some air in my left front tire on my truck. No big deal right?
Some guy came up to me and asked me if I could explain to some other fellow what “NO TRESPASSING” meant. The object of the explanation spoke with an extremely thick Spanish accent and barely could speak English.
Which meant he was an Illegal. I told him that it meant you’re not supposed to stay here, it’s private property. The first guy said he was from Mexico, which only confirmed my suspicion. So I told the first guy to tell the Illegal “Look up Guadalupe Hidalgo and Gadsden Purchase.” Fortunately, the Illegal didn’t come back to me; if he had, I would have told him to get the frak away from me or else I’d call La Migra!

Mama Moonbat to Run vs. Pelosi?

Filed under: | Axis of Donks | War on Terror

Now wouldn’t this be a match for the ages: Cindy Sheehan, who apparently cannot stay out of the anti-war limelight, challenging Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in her home district of San Francisco!

“Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership,” Sheehan told The Associated Press. “We hired them to bring an end to the war. I’m not too far from San Francisco, so it wouldn’t be too big of a move for me. I would give her a run for her money.”

The 9/11 Troofers would be all beside themselves…and would go insane trying to figure out who to support! Perhaps they should enlist the advice of Ron Paul’s supporters?

Knesset to Paleos: Here’s Your State

Filed under: | War on Terror

In the wake of an Israeli Supreme Court decision last year which granted Palestinians hurt by IDF operations in the Gaza Strip the right to compensation…and also Hamas’ takeover of the Strip from Hataf...now comes a proposal from two Knesset members to strip the Palestinians of this right and declaring the Gaza Strip a “foreign entity.”
That’s tantamount to Israel saying “OK, ‘Palestine’...here’s your state. Now go knock yourself out!” Seems like they didn’t need that to knock each other silly. What about “Go make a killing!”? Oops…same thing there too.
