Lions Salivate

It was bound to happen, and it happened Thursday night, as Green Bay QB Brett Favre injured his right elbow and separated his left shoulder (OWIE!) during the game with Dallas, which the Cowboys won 34-27.
At least Favre has three extra days to recuperate, but in case he isn’t available, then his loss to the Packers may hurt their chances of winning the NFC North division, because the Lions will be watching this very carefully. Stay tuned.

Donks Take Over GOP Debates

Filed under: | Axis of Donks

I’ve never liked the idea of Presidential debates this far out of the actual election, now less than one year away. With not one, but two plants in the GOP GooTube debate from Wednesday night…the Democrats continue to paint the Republicans as the party of hatred and intolerance. It is for those reasons why these have become a total farce.
To make things fair, I hope the GOP gives the Donks a taste of their own medicine. Besides, it’s easier for civilized folks to impersonate barbarians than vice versa.

219 On The 202!

Filed under: | The 48th State

HUGE news from Phoenix today: here’s a video of someone who claims to have opened up a Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 at 219 miles per hour on the Santan portion of the Loop 202 freeway, located in the southeast Valley. Obviously this was done in the wee hours of the morning!

And in case this video goes away, here’s the ABC15 recording. Needless to say, this has already pissed off the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Whoever did this, I’d like to see this guy try it on the 10 between Phoenix and Tucson!

Pacemaker For Mom

Got a call from my brother about a half-hour ago. They took Mom into the OR for the pacemaker insertion. I should hear something some time around 1100 hours my time. Please keep her in your prayers.

UPDATE (1310 MST): Mom’s out of surgery; my brother said she was higher than a kite. When I spoke to her prior to my chiropractic appointment a couple of hours ago, she certainly was, and everything went fine.
Thank you, God.

Annapolis Quickie

Filed under: | War on Terror

I don’t understand how one day of this…

...can produce concrete results, especially when we’re dealing with the duplicitous Paleostinians, whose feet have not been held to the fire as the Israelis’ have been time and time again. The only “result” of the Annapolis conference was an “agreement” between the parties to restart “peace talks” which have gone nowhere in seven years.
Whoop de freakin’ do. With Hamas rejecting Mahmoud Abbas’ “gestures” and Iran’s Ahmadinejad spewing forth his hatred, this conference was a waste of time.

Can You Spell “Hyperinflation?”

Alright all you leftist idiots out there. Since you love wage and price controls (just for an example), here’s a chance where you can experience it for real! Just buy a ticket (preferably one-way) to Harare, Zimbabwe, where you will encounter:
Empty Shelves!
Manufacturers refusing to sell goods at below cost!
Business Loans at 25% interest!
Not to mention 8000% inflation in September alone! Ain’t Communism grand?

Giving Him The Business

Now here’s something worth a hearty laugh:

And then I found out there’s actually an historical precedent for that phrase back in 1986 by NFL referee Ben Dreith:

“We have a personal foul, on number 99 of the defense, after he tackled the quarterback, he’s giving him the business down there, that’s a 15-yard penalty.”

State of Sleep: Not Really

It may be Monday morning…I may have gotten six hours’ sleep…but I’m still not totally rested. Still:

PATS 11-0 BUT: Remember, they got caught...so this may taint any perfect record they may aspire to.

DAY OF RECKONING: Speaking ot tainted, Pat Buchanan is heralding the end of the United States. We all know why he would say this. However, he is still anti-Semitic at his core, and he belongs in the same boat as, say, Vlaams Belang.

TRAGEDY OF NEW CAPRICA: Since the end of Season 3 (from what I remember), SciFi.com has allowed Frakheads to make videos and this is one of them; at least they provide the SFX and soundtracks. Check it out.

Questions to Ponder

Now that I’ve just finished seeing Razor, there is one scene in particular which brings up some interesting questions:

1) How did the Guardian know Major Shaw?
2) Why did the Guardian tell Shaw what he knew about Kara Thrace, even though they were both going to die when she set off the nuke to blow up that base ship?

It’s very, very possible that the Guardian knows who the Final Five were all along…and that he’s been around for a very, very long time…even prior to the exodus of the Thirteenth Tribe from Kobol to Earth.
“All of this has happened before, And all of this will happen again…again…again….”

Yet Another Little Red Book

And it comes from none other than our favorite DFC himself, Comrade Chavez! This makes him not only that, but a Maoist too and therefore, doubly dangerous!
If the upcoming referendum doesn’t go his way, he may open up some killing fields.

Guards Gone Wild?

Do I feel sorry for the guy who produced Girls Gone Wild, who had to spend some time in the slammer while awaiting trial on Federal charges of Income Tax Evasion?

Guards at the Grady County Law Enforcement Center denied Joe Francis food and blankets and threatened to strap him naked to a chair for 48 hours, Francis’ attorneys alleged last month in court papers seeking his release on bail in a Florida case, The Oklahoman reported.
Francis, 34, was held at the jail from May 17 to June 4 while being moved from a Florida jail to a federal facility in Reno, Nev., where he is awaiting trial next year on a tax evasion charge.
Grady County officials denied the accusations, telling the newspaper that guards never threatened to strap Francis to a chair, that Francis had an extra blanket he shouldn’t have had confiscated and that his transfer was delayed because his family had somehow found out when he was to have been moved, creating a potential security risk.
“Mr. Francis was treated like every inmate that comes through the Grady County Law Enforcement Center,” jail administrator Shane Wyatt told the newspaper.

Would you like the short answer?
No.
There. See how easy that was?

Rooting For The Liberals!

Filed under: | International | War on Terror

Don’t worry, it isn’t what you think….
Right now, it’s Election Day in Australia, and Prime Minister John Howard, one of our staunchest allies, has got a battle on his hands. Down Under, the Liberal Party is considered conservative on the political scale. That said, his party just underwent a “November Surprise” and I hope they can survive.
I’ve got at least one Lizardoid who’ll report back with results as they come in. Meantime, Best Wishes to the Australian People as they make their choices known.

UPDATE (11/24/07, 0745 MST): Well, Howard and the Liberals got beat...but all may not be lost. The new PM, if this pre-election article‘s comments are any indicator, may have his feet held to the fire by his own party, and that may bode well for Australia in general.
