Remember this former Nebraska teacher? Yeah, the hottie who was boffin’ the young Illegal, they flee to Mexico, they got caught there and they were brought back.
For her role in the illicit affair, she was sentenced to six years in prison, got credit for time served, and won’t be eligible for parole. Now this is just for the Feds. The State of Nebraska still hasn’t decided whether or not to charge her. And you’re wondering what happened to the young Illegal?
Why he and his family get to stay in the United States under a humanitarian parole. How much do you want to bet that once she serves her time, she goes back to the kid, just like Mary Kay Letourneau?

After finding out where the $700 billion figure came from, not to mention the additional powers which would have been granted to the Secretary of the Treasury, let’s just say I was livid with both the House leadership AND the Bush Administration. As a result it’s a good thing 95 Democrats listened to their constituents and helped kill the deal. Oh, and did I mention Speaker Pelosi wanted to blame the whole damn situation on Bush?
The House will try again on Thursday, so keep up the pressure.
Watch this video:
Frank Raines (who’s with Obama’s campaign last I heard) says a home mortgage is not without risk? BULL-S**T!
Some people think the recently-retired F-117A Night Hawk, which has now gone under the wrecking ball (so to speak), was the closest thing we have to a Cylon Raider. The old series, that is:

These are toasters I’m gonna miss.

My apologies once again to David Byrne and the Talking Heads….
There was a fire at Gibson Square’s headquarters in London yesterday. Three guys are in custody on charges related to the UK’s anti-terrorism laws. So what did Gibson Square do?
They published an historical novel about Aisha, the nine-year-old child “bride” of Mohammed. It’s a sure bet that the three guys who allegedly set the fire were probably thinking along the lines of “You blaspheme our prophet, now you will pay!” Notice, BTW, that I refuse to capitalize what everyone else does.
And what’s even worse than this “blasphemy”: the author is an American woman infidel. Look out! Get ready for some more riots! Remember, these folks demand that you respect them as a Religion of Peace. Otherwise, they’ll kill you!
LAN ASTASLEM. I will not submit.
Like you’ve never heard it before!
An intriguing item I noticed on this bottle of prescription strength Mexican Ibuprofen. Yes, these are the horse pills which are 800mg each:

As you’ll see, the labeling is clearly in Spanish…and then when you open the bottle up to reveal the seal, guess what! That’s still in English! Gee, I wonder why that is….
Here’s a video which explains quite nicely how we got into this financial mess:

I actually sang a karaoke version of this 1990 hit from They Might Be Giants for some Fraternity Brothers. They got a huge kick out of it!
Here’s what really burns me about the Wall Street bailout. Not that they’re asking for $700 billion (we all knew that was coming). When this plan was originally proposed, it was three pages in length.
Now it’s 102.
One hundred two pages of more pork barrel spending, What the frak is Congress adding to this bill to expand it so dramatically? No wonder then why the American People are becoming more and more incensed at Congress’ ability to bloat a bill to death.
UPDATE (28 September 2008; 1856 MST): Here’s the bill they’re gonna vote on. Count the pages.
Dang. Not great news to wake up to. There were so many flicks of his I watched when I was younger. I’d still watch them whenever I see them on AMC or some such movie channel. One of the Giants of Hollywood to be sure (and not necessarily a member of the Film Actors’ Guild), and he’ll be missed.
Newman had a long marriage to Joanne Woodward, a rarity for that community. I love what he said about marriage when he told Playboy:
“Why go out for hamburger when you have steak at home?”
Indeed.
And then there was his careers in auto racing…Winning comes to mind, and philanthropy…he didn’t run Newman’s Own to make a quick buck, that’s for sure. Oh yeah…some of those products are just way too sweet for my palate!
Even so…thanks, Paul.

When I first read this story at work this afternoon, I laughed my a** off and no one knew why. Good thing too.
I can only imagine the raging and seething of a certain Muslim “cleric” who was expelled from the UK and now resides in Lebanon with his Hezbo buds when he found out that his daughter (pictured at right) is a Pole Dancer! Can anyone say Automatic Fatwa in 3…2…1…?
Oh, the Irony of it all!
Already out of the gate!
Our financial system is in a monster of a mess. I work in the financial services industry. I won’t say where, but what I CAN say is that the place I work for seems to be in pretty good shape.
That said, with no bailout plan (which I admit is painfully necessary) in place and the activity of the last 24 hours, it’s hard to say where this will all end up. Hence, my prayer to God. He’s the only one who can figure this all out.
While Wall Street Burns…Senator Barack Obama aims to take away dissension once again:
Obama’s tactics are totalitarian in nature. If you can’t see that, you’re blind.
