Today turned out to be quite a nice adventure. I was going up to Lake Pleasant for a photo shoot when, while on the way there, I discovered a glider ride mom & pop shop next to a small RV park. It was pretty nice…
...and then I saw the restrictions and prices. I think I’m going to have to wait a while. BTW, these photos were originally shot in RAW and I ran them through the infrared filter. I always loved to take B&W.

For a while after Президент Оба́ма assumed office, former President George W. Bush wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now that he’s seen enough, he’s beginning to speak up about his successor’s policies…and not all of what he has to say is pleasant:

“International pressure — diplomacy only works if there’s leverage. It sounds wonderful — ‘Let’s go talk to people’ — but you better have leverage in order to make diplomacy work.”

He ought to know – he went to the UN countless times to get them to help deal with Saddam, which then sat on its hands for the most part. Meantime, look how effective the UN is with North Korea and Iran.
Remember: diplomacy is the FIRST tool, which is backed up by the LAST tool, which is military force.

A couple of days ago I read this story about a UFO crashing into a meteorite to save the Earth, and almost snorted through something I was drinking. They’re still speculating over a century later as to what really happened at Tunguska, and this stuff’s pretty amazing.

Dang! I didn’t realize until just now that I hadn’t posted anything today. What did I do?
• Laundry. Always on my day off.
• Shopping. The cupboards are getting bare and so was my bank account.
• Paperwork. I wrote Senators Kyl and McCain regarding Judge Sotomayor. Based on previous experience, I’ll hear from Senator Kyl first and maybe Senator McCain later. If he remembers.
• Photoshop Fun. A coworker gave me a fishy to fill in with a montage.
Definitely the most productive day I’ve had in awhile. I just hope I can get some more sales in over the next couple of days. OK, off to bed!

My son. Through a social networking utility which I will not name. His message hit the mailbox at 1253 hours MST and read as follows:

He obviously tried to goad me into responding, and I won’t do it. I reported him for violation of their Terms of Service. At the very least, I’ve got him blocked and I have asked all my friends to do the same, should he try to connect with them.
God, that was a very hard thing to do because I still love him. One would think that he would have grown up a bit since he and his mother got furious at me for moving to AZ, but apparently not. Considering he quit school when he was 15, at least he has a job, and that’s important.
Being a single parent and not being able to have a good relationship with my son is very hard on me. Thank God the Lady E is there to help me through this.

There is some serious s**t going down in Pyongyang, as North Korea has not only tested its nuke and lobbed five missiles out to sea within the last two days.
Now, The A**hole™ is threatening war. Fine. You want war? Then PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
I HATE WAR. I DETEST WAR. Any sane person out there (especially our military) are the same. They also hate and detest war. But by God, if you put them in a situation where they must fight it, then fight it they must, and WE WILL TOTALLY AND UTTERLY DESTROY YOUR COUNTRY.

Back in February, I postulated that newly-appointed Сенатор Роланд Бюррис, who was appointed by Blago just prior to his removal from office, was bulls**ting the Illinois State Senate about his role in the post-election controversy.
Turns out I was right. Federal wiretaps showed Бюррис offered to write a check to Blago’s campaign prior to his appointment. Never mind the fact that he didn’t follow through; the intent was clearly there!
So, People of Illinois, I ask you once again: how much more bulls**t are you going to put with from these guys?

Dang it! I thought I had an mp3 of Morris Albert’s “Feelings” hit from the 1970s in my iTunes library…but I don’t. Oh well. So much for playing that soppy song in this post. But I digress.
Anyway, Президент Оба́ма will announce that he has chosen Federal Appeals Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor as his nominee for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, to succeed retiring Associate Justice David Souter. All along, he’s hinted that he wants people on the Court to take people’s feelings into consideration when ruling on cases, over and above what they are supposed to bed doing…and that is to INTERPRET THE LAW AS IT IS WRITTEN. I won’t even go into the concept of taking into account foreign law as precedent, which I’m sure he’d love to have this Court run.
The Президент may have a fight on his hands, as I believe there may be a few Democrat Senators who will have an issue with this, and subsequently side with the GOP to allow a filibuster to proceed.
As it is, if Оба́ма gets Sotomayor past the Senate, her seating won’t change the overall ideological makeup of SCOTUS. That is why I will continue to pray for the good health of not only the liberal members of the Court, but especially Associate Justices Thomas, Scalia, Alito, and Kennedy, as well as Chief Justice Roberts, as long as Оба́ма remains in office.

Now this is some interesting information Fausta has her hands on: a report from Israeli Intelligence that Comrades Chavez and Morales may be mining and shipping Uranium to Mr. Dinner Jacket. God, what a STUPID move!
Don’t these guys realize that we can track where radioactive substances originate from, and thus if Iran does something STUPID, they not only invite destruction upon their own cities, but those of Venezuela and Bolivia? I guess the Mullahs really do want to summon the Mahdi, don’t they!
