Oh well...back to reality. I got a very interesting e-mail from my Republican Congressman, John Shadegg:
DEMOCRACY OVERRULED
Democrats Abuse Power - Alter Vote Count
WASHINGTON, D.C. - House Democrats last night overruled a clear vote showing that the Republican Motion-to-Recommit on the Agriculture Appropriations bill had passed. Democrats ruled, instead, that the motion failed.
With the vote total boards at each end of the House Chamber clearly showing the Republican motion prevailing by a vote of 215 to 213 and the word “FINAL” displayed beside that count, the Democrat Chairman gaveled the vote closed, announcing the Republican motion had failed on a 214 to 214 tie.
“I have been here almost 13 years and I thought I had seen it all, but tonight’s display of corrupt, raw, partisan political power was stunning,” said Rep. John Shadegg (AZ-03). “I honestly didn’t think this could happen in America. This is a sad day for the U.S. House and a tragic day for our nation.”
Following a protracted period of chaotic protest and procedural wrangling, Democrats altered the displayed vote total two more times. However, when Democrats refused to acknowledge their abuse of power and accept the passage of the motion, Republicans walked out en masse in protest.
“If my vote doesn’t count, what point is there in voting?” Shadegg said. “I owe it to my constituents and to this nation to demand integrity and fairness in the operations of this institution.”
As a result of this shameful action by the party which controls the House, a special committee is being formed to look to see what really happened. The Donks will not get away with this one...and they call themselves Democrats. I, for one, would be very interested to see whose vote got switched.

In a move sure to upset parents with children, KM Communications applied for, and received, the following call letters from the FCC:
• KUNT - Hawaii
• KWTF - Arizona
I’ll have to find out what town the latter “station” will be located....
Anyway, this is nothing. There is also a radio station in Aspen, CO, with the call letters KCUF. Don’t believe me? Click on the link if you dare!

According to a poll conducted by Pocket Issue, a UK-based think tank, 71% of respondents believe the current global warming trend is not man-made, but rather part of the natural cycle. But of course, the surveyors surmise that people are too dumb to realize the real situation:
Emma Hardcastle, publisher at Pocket Issue which carried out the research, said: “If 71% of people feel that Man has nothing to do with the recent change in our climate then those same people are not going to buy into any movement to reduce their carbon footprint.
“We need to make it clear that there is nothing natural about the significant rise in both carbon emissions and global temperatures since the industrial revolution.”
Said surveyors still haven’t adequately explained the global warming occurring on Mars...and they never will.

Excuse me? Did I read this right...there’s a pending bill in the California Assembly which only allows purebred dogs and cats to breed? And mandates the spaying and neutering of all other dogs and cats? And levies criminal penatles and $500 fines against pet owners who don’t sterilize said non-purebreds by four months of age?
I don’t have a pet...I wish I did, and it’d be a dog in any case since I’m allergic to cats...but if I were living in the Golden State, I’d be up in arms against my Assembly Representative AND State Senator AND would use choice words to do it. This is yet another method of government controlling not just the pet population (I wonder what Bob Barker would think of this?), but the population in general.
Marian and George I hope you read this and get pissed off and contact your reps!

There’s still two more years on Michael Bloomberg’s term as NYC Mayor, and what I don’t get is why he just doesn’t ditch the Republican moniker. It’s the only thing which got him elected anyway. Using London as his shining example, he now wants to charge fees for the privilege of driving in Manhattan. Oh, and he’s a Goracle-worshipper too:
“The threats to our city, and our planet, are inconvenient truths that we can no longer avoid facing, and that we can no longer wait for Washington to confront.”
This already doesn’t sit well with NYC residents, nor does it sit well with lawmakers in Albany:
“This is a tax on middle-class people,” said state Assemblyman Richard Brodsky, a Westchester Democrat who chairs one of the committees that held the joint hearing. “This will stop the Chevrolets from coming in, not the BMWs.”
There’s your tried-and-true method for the Donks, and the RINOs for that matter: tax the s**t out of everyone so only the rich can afford it.

YAY! I was so glad to hear that Rosie finally got her a** thrown off that show. Here’s how ABC announced her departure:
“We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave. Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to ‘The View’ and wish her well.”
I’d say it’s more like ABC cut her a check for the remaining three weeks of her contract and told her to GTFO. And of course when I got home from work I immediately set out to ‘immortalize’ her attitude toward America.
See ya ‘round, Rosie, don’t let ABC’s door hit you in the a** on your way out!

Yep, in the wake of the USPS’ latest increase in postal rates (yes, that’s now 41 cents for first-class mail and you can now get the ”Forever” stamps!), here’s what else they have coming down the pike:
More than 2,000 responses were received from pressure groups and members of the public after the Government announced last December that 2,500 post offices will close over the next few years.
Groups representing pensioners and rural communities have argued that wide-scale closures should be avoided, arguing that many post offices provide a lifeline for local residents.
The National Consumer Council said the Government’s decision on the future of the postal network must ensure long-term access to services for the 24 million people who rely on them every week.
And you know what’s scary about all this: the fact that the United States Postal Service is still the most efficient snail mail service on the planet. What they need is to be privatized and forced to compete with the likes of FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
But with the Democrats controlling Congress, they want that GGN solution to be available, so don’t expect any radical changes any time soon.

LGF Operative zombie, with whom I have communicated in the past and who has also featured one of my parodies on his/her website, convered more pro-impeachment protests in San Francisco this past weekend. See, I have no idea whether zombie is male or female, and I don’t want to know so that his/her identity can remain a secret; it’s because of zombie’s profession.
Man, these pix and videos are amusing to see. These protesters are so messed up in the head, I swear every time I see stuff like this, I keep wondering to myself why the hell don’t they just put down the signs and the giant puppets, strip down and have at it during the middle of the demonstrations. After all, that’s what they’re good for. I’ll bet the SFPD would just stand back and laugh their a**es off.
And to cut to the chase, here’s zombie’s burning question:
But how many more Impeachment Weekends must we endure until November, 2008?
Oh, about 78 or so....

I got a Final Notice for non-payment of my rent stuck in my door yesterday afternoon...conveniently after the management office was closed. I thought to myself “what’s this bulls**t?” So I logged into Online Banking and printed off a copy of the check they cashed, three days after I gave it to them!
This is the second time since I’ve been here that whoever is doing their books isn’t doing a good job. Now I will have to show them this proof and I’m off the hook. This is why it’s so advantageous to use Online Banking. That’s twice now that it’s saved me from incompetent bookkeepers.

What’s worse: this fine group of young women being called “nappy-headed hos” by Don Imus?
OR
The three young Duke lacrosse players, falsely accused by this person, with said charges finally dropped today after 13 months?
At least the members of the Rutgers Women’s Basketball Team can recover from their hurt feelings, and make money. The three young men have had their reputations RUINED by this false accuser, by former DA Mike Nifong, and by various Duke profs who signed onto the “race card” situation. I hope those three guys sue the living s**t out of all those people mentioned, and Duke University to boot for allowing this to happen!

I had to chuckle when Popular Mechanics posted this reply to Rosie’s (you know, the one who’s a charter member of the Film Actors’ Guild) raging and seething on The View.
Why chuckle? Because this latest episode took place only yesterday!
Let Rosie keep ranting like she has been. One day, someone in the audience, other than Elisabeth Hasselbeck, will have the intestinal fortitude to stand up and simply yell something like BULL-S**T YOU CRAZY-A** LIAR! With a few other invectives thrown in, of course. Let that person be a conservative woman who will go and bitch-slap Rosie seven ways to Sunday! May it happen soon, on national TV, so that ABC will consequently fire her.

I’ve read this article three times and I still can’t understand how the ban the San Francisco Board of Supervisors enacted on plastic grocery bags is actually a ban, given that they allow grocers and pharmacists the option to offer plastic which is made from corn by-products. Read ethanol.
This is yet another effort to regulate what people can and cannot use, which is what Democrats are great at. Perhaps the Donks in SF are encouraging another bag be used...one made of canvas...which could come from, say, hemp. Yeah, that’s right, keep everyone stoned and happy.

Sydney, Australia falls for the Goracle’s mantra and agrees to a partial blackout of the city for one hour, to bring the issue to the forefront. This is downright idiotic. When sixth graders who are not so tainted by all the Kerryesque nuances of politics and elitism, not to mention Gore’s film, hold a mock trial and determine that humanity is not at fault...then there’s something wrong with this.
Oh, and did I mention Mars?

What the hell is Ray Nagin smoking...crack? If he is, then it’s no wonder he’s coming up with this bulls**t:
“Ladies and gentlemen, what happened in New Orleans could happen anywhere. They are studying this model of natural disasters, dispersing the community and changing the electoral process in that community.”
In other words, he’s accusing the Federal Government and the corporations of not just gentrification, but white gentrification. It’s s**t like this coming from people like Ray Nagin that keep blacks in their place with the Giant Government Nipple Solution. And of course the Democrats are sucking it right up.

One of the many “tools” the European Union is utilizing to combat the scourge of global warming caused by human intervention, which is of course total bulls**t (look at Mars for crying out loud!), calls for reducing the speed limits on Germany’s Autobahns...the one freedom Germans have in a rules-bound country. And the Germans are crying foul.
I find this amusing in a way. Back in 1974, we had a national 55 MPH speed limit set by the Federal government, which was eventually repealed twenty-one years later and returned the speed limit issue to the states. Yet the eggheads in Brussels want to impose more restrictions on daily life. At least the German auto industry got it right when it essentially told the EU that they’ll do it when their shareholders call for it.
