Veterans’ Day & Remembrance Day

On the Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month:

THEY FIGHT FOR US!

- Graphic courtesy of Rides A Pale Horse

Also on this date, at the same time, Commenwealth countries all over the world, especially in Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, commemorate their war dead and veterans with Remembrance Day. Their symbol is the poppy, as depicted in the poem In Flanders Fields by Canadian physician John McCrae:

On This Day In History…

The Continental Marines were formed by the Continental Congress on this date in 1775, and their traditions and history carry through to today as the United States Marine Corps.

A-Bomb Pilot Dead

Brigadier General Paul W. Tibbets, USAF (Retired), was a man who lived with no regrets at all about his mission. He died today with no regrets either, at 92 years of age.
He stuck around long enough to see what happened on 9/11. And what was his reaction? Yep, you guessed it:

Let’s put it this way. I don’t know any more about these terrorists than you do, I know nothing. When they bombed the Trade Centre I couldn’t believe what was going on. We’ve fought many enemies at different times. But we knew who they were and where they were. These people, we don’t know who they are or where they are. That’s the point that bothers me. Because they’re gonna strike again, I’ll put money on it. And it’s going to be damned dramatic. But they’re gonna do it in their own sweet time. We’ve got to get into a position where we can kill the bastards. None of this business of taking them to court, the hell with that. I wouldn’t waste five seconds on them.

Like I said...no regrets at all. May General Tibbets Rest In Peace.

No Alliance With Neo-Nazis. NONE!

Filed under: History | War on Terror |

Over the past week, there’s been a big brouhaha between various pro-USA blogs regarding criticism of an appearance of an alliance between anti-Islamofascist forces in Europe and neo-Nazi organizations also professing the same oppositions. Let’s take a look at the origin of the word “Nazi.”.
The MSM tends to paint neo-Nazi groups as “right wing.” Nothing can be further from the truth, because the word actually originates from the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers Party). Like Communists and other totalitarian governments, the Nazis controlled all aspects of the society; the Nuremberg Laws come to mind, which specifically persecuted Jews. And of course they went after gays (more so) and lesbians (less so), Gypsies, the handicapped, etc., in order to form their “perfect society.”
Don’t believe for a second that these nationalist European groups with any ties to the Nazis, past or present, won’t reveal their true colors once the Islamofascist threat is taken care of. That’s why no right-thinking group who wants to stop the Islamization of Europe (and the rest of the world) should ally themselves with such organizations.

3 Types of People

Filed under: History | War on Terror |

There are three types of people in the world: Trey Parker and Matt Stone describe them here (WARNING! NOT SAFE FOR WORK!). But I think there’s a more straightforward way of describing those three types of people:

“Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident.
“...Then there are the wolves, and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy.
“...Then there are sheepdogs, and I’m a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf.”

Just like Sam does to Ralph. Go Ye and read the rest. The Macker Commands It!

In Case You’ve Forgotten…

Filed under: History | War on Terror |

...which all leftists and especially the Ronulans have done, here’s the headline:

Imagine those people leaping to their deaths instead of same by immolation. Imagine those brave NYPD and FDNY men and women, and the other medical workers who volunteered to help after we were struck, and many of those died as well.
Let their deaths NEVER be in vain. NEVER FORGET. Be assured, Osama, all current living members of al Qaeda and any/all franchises worldwide, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that one day, WE WILL COME FOR YOU.

And here’s something reader Turk put together:

Almost Forgotten

Filed under: History | Republicans |

WOW! I didn’t remember that I got this just for working on the Bush Campaign back in 2000. It is a relic of a different time, a different attitude, a different optimism...before 9/11. We just got done with eight years of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, and the world endured a 35-day wait to see who actually won the election.
There is no need to reiterate what the Democrats spew forth about that election, nor those who are even more to the left than the Donks. I just wanted to share with you all what I got as a reward. Click on the thumbnail.

Man Conquers Space: Teaser III

Filed under: Entertainment | History |

Here are some screenshots from Teaser III, available in standard and high-res definitions. Prepare to enter such a promising future, as seen fifty years ago.
And here’s the kicker...here’s one shot which would scare the s**t out of the Islamofascists:

See what I mean! Wait till you see the date. Man I can’t wait till this movie comes out!

Hitler’s Desert Island Discs

When it comes to Jewish culture, here’s what Der Führer had to say about it in Mein Kampf:

“There was never a Jewish art and there is none today,” he wrote, adding that the “two queens of the arts, architecture and music, gained nothing original from the Jews”.

One would figure from this writing that he would never espouse anything of a Jewish nature, which he codified in German law prior to World War II. Think again...it turns out that Hitler actually had some Jewish and Russian records in his collection, which only came to light due to the recent passing of a Soviet intelligence officer who captured the collection at the end of the war.
Just think: the ultimate Nazi himself...a frakkin’ hypocrite who drowned himself in Untermenschen music when the going got tough! Take THAT, you Neo-Nazi b*st*rds!

Man Conquers Space

Don’t let this title fool you....

This isn’t a real documentary, but one based on an alternate history imagined in Collier’s magazine a half-century ago. Can you imagine if we had actually accomplished all this without much of a Cold War? Perhaps if we did, NASA wouldn’t be in such sorry shape like it is today. Then again, NASA doesn’t exist in this film.
This is definitely something I will have to keep an eye on.

60 Years Ago: Roswell

The incident which took place on July 8, 1947, where elements of the 509th Composite Group allegedly found a crashed flying saucer on the grounds of a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico, is the subject of intense scrutiny and speculation to this very day:

At least the City of Roswell has cashed in on the phenomenon, with over 35,000 people peacefully descending on the little town. Quark would have been proud!
