Now that your Union Leaders have tentatively reached a deal to end the 2-day walkout against GM, you better start keeping real good track of where $51 billion of your health care costs go. Because if you don’t, your Union Leaders will try and funnel some of that money over to help get Democrats elected in future election cycles...as if they don’t already do that?
Pay attention! Stay informed! Don’t take anything for granted! Your Union Leaders are not God!
Thank you. We now return you to your regular programming.

Now this is a fine prospect to look forward to: a Strike by UAW workers if no tentative agreement is reached with GM by 1100 hours Eastern Time. Actually, the GM contract expired September 14, but they kept talking, and at least it’s a good sign...for now; we’ll know in a few hours.
If you ever wonder from time to time why US autos are so expensive, look no further than the contracts with GM, Ford, and Chrysler. I’m no longer averse to look at foreign cars/trucks/SUVs built in the USA as my next set of wheels.

Hey at least it was peaceful, and at least Al Sharpton showed up along with the “Reverend” Jesse Jackson:
But where was Osama Obama, Shrillary, Breck Girl, the Goracle, et. al.? What about Mama Moonbat? The Code Pinkers? A.N.S.W.E.R.? La Raza? Those folks are supposed to love a good march! But they were nowhere to be found. Gee I wonder why.

These ones are worse than the jokes making the rounds prior to his murder trial. Courtesy of LGF Lizardoid kreigwagon:
Q: What’s the difference between Christopher Reeve and OJ Simpson?
A. Christopher Reeve got the electric chair ... and OJ walked!A summer camp not for kids: OJ Simpson’s ----Camp Killachickee
After OJ is sent to prison, all the inmates will be asking each other, “Have you had your OJ this morning?
Q: What is the difference between Tang and OJ?
A: Tang won’t kill you!Q: Why do they call him OJ?
A: Because he beats the pulp out of his women.Q: What is the difference between Rodney King and OJ Simpson?
A: OJ started out with millions.Q: What do you get when you put Lorena Bobbit, Tammy Faye, and OJ Simpson in the same room?
A: A butcher, a Baker and a license plate maker.Did you hear there was evidence found that proved OJ couldn’t have been at the crime scene? They found a Super Bowl ring
Man, these are painful!

I called the Goldman family stupid once...but I have to take that back, now that they were awarded the rights to publish this book originally written by OJ Simpson to try and raise some spending money. I’m thinking about strolling down to a place such as Barnes & Noble to peruse the contents and see for myself what OJ says, then see whether the entire Goldman family makes individual comments, or just one spokesperson, namely, Fred Goldman himself.
Can this book make a $33.5 million profit to satisfy the civil judgment passed to their favor ten years ago? If it does, then their quest for “justice” is over and they should then SHUT THE FRAK UP! As excruciatingly painful it would be to lose a loved one due to murder, this particular family may be deliberately ignoring one simple fact: as much as we want to...and already have, I admit it, I’m guilty of this...it isn’t up to us to judge OJ...that ultimate power belongs to God Almighty.

I’d like to know what motivated Hallmark to market the following greeting card, other than greed; that is, if greed were a factor. Lecherousness, perhaps? Let’s face it, Paris Hilton, for better or for worse, is hot.
If those weren’t factors, then why is Paris suing them? What’s her motivation? Inquiring Minds Want To Know. Yes I’m being rhetorial here; for better (less likely) or for worse (more likely), Paris is a public figure and is open to parody. So if she can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

More shredding and sorting to go through this weekend. Rah. Here’s what caught my eye news-wise:
DONNY & MARIE MY A**: Given their filmography, I don’t get where Roger Friedman would call the Wachowski Brothers (Andy & Larry, the latter of whom was rumored to have had a sex change operation) to America’s annoyingly wholesome TV team from the 70s. I just can’t match Larry up with “Paper Leaflets Roses.”
TAMING THE iPHONE MOB: I am glad I wasn’t an early adopter of this device...I’d probably have been more than a little upset too. I still think the iPhone is a tad bit too expensive for my tastes.
IT’S STILL CROOKED MONEY: Shrillary plans to “donate” (read: get rid of) the funds she received from Democrat donor Norman Hsu, who’s now back in Federal custody, to charity. And Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell had planned to keep his “donations” for himself if Hsu had gotten away! WTF!

Five months and counting after Kevin Cho took out 33 people, now a comes a report which summarizes what could have been done to prevent all those killings. In short, the faculty and students didn’t receive the necessary warnings. Yet another exercise in a bureaucracy full of itself.
Lots of blogs figured that out right after the murders, and also what was deficient at Virginia Tech. Let’s face it: Kevin Cho was one individual who didn’t receive the necessary mental health counseling he needed, no thanks to some screwup in the court system. He knew what he was doing.
I said it before and I’ll say it again: what needs to be done is to allow students and teachers who carry legitimate CCW permits recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia to be allowed to pack their heat anywhere not just on campus, but at any other school or place of business. An armed society is a polite society, and it’s also easier to be judged by 12 than to be carried out by 6.

I thought I had a good thing going there with my Saddam’s Grandstanding series, which ended up with 14 official entries and a couple of unofficial ones to boot. But nope, Blogs For Bush has gone way past that with its 100th Post about “What Media Bias?”
In it, Mark Noonan salutes Chris Wallace of Fox News for smacking down Bill Moyers, who recently criticized Karl Rove. And a good smackdown it is too. Go Ye and check it out. The Macker Commands It!

Unless New York City withdraws its commitment to put GPS systems in the 8,000 taxicabs criss-crossing the boroughs every day, taking clients to needed destinations...the drivers’ union there will call a strike. That, in and of itself, may put a small dent in the number of cars on the streets.
I can see why the union doesn’t want the GPS technology in their vehicles. Some drivers tend to take breaks when and where they’re not supposed to; for example, they may pull over in the seedy part of the Big Apple (wherever that is, I have no idea) to go grab a hooker for a quickie, or a drug dealer for a dime. Or a cabbie might carry a fare to a known location for terrorist activities, say, a mosque under surveillance by the Feds.
Nope, can’t have that.

While this article is indeed a geeky subject to some, it isn’t to me for a very good reason: we are starting to play God, and that is downright dangerous. Mark Bedau, chief operating officer of ProtoLife of Venice, Italy, says the following about the possibility of the artificial life getting out of hand:
“When these things are created, they’re going to be so weak, it’ll be a huge achievement if you can keep them alive for an hour in the lab. But them getting out and taking over, never in our imagination could this happen.”
I wonder if this guy has ever seen Space: Above and Beyond, much less Battlestar Galactica when the Frankenstein complex kicked in.

Sp NASA says repairs are not needed for Endeavour to return to Earth with the gash. I do not like this decision at all. It happened during launch when a chunk of ice tore off and hit the shuttle, which is similar to what happened to Columbia back in 2003.
The lives of those seven astronauts are in my prayers.

If you’re going to be cheating on your spouse and/or significant other (depending on the type of relationship you’re in), and you have an EZPass electronic toll meter installed in your vehicle, expect to have your records subpoenaed by the other side. In other words, don’t save a quick buck for a quick...well, you get the picture.
Now here’s a headline which is supposed to be surprising. On the contrary, I’m laughing my a** off:
US public sees news media as biased, inaccurate, uncaring: poll
More than half of Americans say US news organizations are politically biased, inaccurate, and don’t care about the people they report on, a poll published Thursday showed.
And poll respondents who use the Internet as their main source of news—roughly one quarter of all Americans—were even harsher with their criticism, the poll conducted by the Pew Research Center said.
Don’t worry...news organizations the world over are seen as biased, inaccurate, and uncaring too. I certainly don’t want to leave out Agence France-Presse and al-Reuters, not to mention the BBC. And our life experiences make us biased in one way or another. Must be a slow news day....
