This’ll make you think Battlestar was a violent series. You don’t say….

When I first heard these were going to appear, I thought for a moment “huh?” and went back to the Original Series. Man, was I ever wrong!
Judging from the aerodynamics, these fighters are definitely atmospheric-only are are a curious cross between the Vought F-8 Crusader and the Grumman X-29, and must have employed lots of high-tech avionics due to the forward-swept wing design…which would undoubtedly open itself to Cylon hacking six years or so down the road.
As this is the pre-Cylon War era, Caprica still had a defense force deployed to protect against invasion by other Colonies. Tauron, I’ll bet.
From Kelly “Kat” Meyers by way of BolianAdmiral…here’s a special rendering of a “Talon”-class Raptor ARMED TO THE TEETH!
Today, I finally ripped down the last of the BSG episodes (specifically, 4.5, which I was able to snag from Target last night for only $16.99!). So no more iTunes bulls**t for that series.
I also got my copy of the soundtrack for The Plan and Razor in the mail today from Amazon.com, and those are already ripped down to AAC 256K. More aural chamalla for me!
Yes, I am a Happy Camper.
See Bob Beckel, debating his brother Graham recently on Hannity:
Now check this out…I was very surprised about this other role Graham didn’t mention:

Why…that’s Jack Fisk!
Let’s hope this code from Skiffy works….
One of the most AMAZING songs I’ve ever heard on the wireless was featured on the most recent episode of Caprica, where Philemon and the U-87 dance with the tune in the background.
It’s titled “Was Love” by the group Captain Ahab. Due to Bear’s mentioning, they received thousands of positive messages from Fans around North America, so they made it available as a Free Download. Go Ye and Get The Song by clicking on the link. The Macker Commands It!
I’m beginning to watch Caprica like a hawk…wait, I’m already doing that!...I’m referring to the old cars which show up.
For example, this Ford Galaxie Sam’s driving while scouting out the Graystones. I wonder if they got someone from the local chapter of the Galaxie Club of Canada to ‘donate’ their car for the on-screen performance. In any case, it’s yet another reason why it’s so retro.
So, the STO is after Zoe-A to bring the existence of The One True God into the open. The word used by the operatives (including Sister Clarice) is Apotheosis. Only issue is: He is already God…as opposed to the Colonial pantheon, so they’re apparently scheming to show the Colonies that they are FALSE gods.
We also see that Joseph is more unscrupulous than we thought he was; he sends his brother on a task to “balance the scales”, something very dark and sinister indeed. He did this for revenge against the disappearance of Tamara-A. Oh, and he’ll be losing some cubits to one judge the Ha’la’tha bought off. Unscrupulous enough for ya?
It’s nice to know burritos are also an ancient dish. I wonder which Colony claims credit?
Next episode in two weeks.
We get another hint of the Tauron language here, and it’s a big one. Never mind what Sam is about to do:

Looks Greek to you? It is. That’s ποιοτητα εκτύπωσης σε λογικές τιμές, which means “quality printing at reasonable prices”. Too bad they didn’t pay their protection cubits to the Ha’la’tha.
WOW! RDM and Co. are on fire…and this is just the first regular episode! We see:
• Caprica has a National Anthem…we hear it at the beginning of a Pyramid match at Atlas Arena. And of course it ends with “So Say We All!” I can’t wait to hear the whole thing.
• Joe Adama drives a car which makes the Citroën DS ancient. Literally. And how his brother Sam says they fit a 350-cubic-inch engine into that vehicle just goes to show that Caprica doesn’t operate under European standards!
• Oh, did I mention that I think I heard Sam just happens to be married to another guy? Remember, this is Caprica, and societies of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol worship a pantheon.
• And if you thought Sister Clarice is prim and proper, think again! She’s in a group marriage…again, this is Caprica. Whether this group marriage is a cover for her activities with the STO remains to be seen.
Tantalizing, indeed!
Whenever a movie is edited in some fashion, I always watch it for what’s been edited. Such was the case for last night’s premier of Caprica on Skiffy. And what did I think of it?
Well, I can sum it up pretty quickly since I’ve already had the pilot since April. BLACK BRAS & PANTIES covering up the T&A, and the Pyramid Stadium, they lost the “losers” scene altogether. I should also mention the apartment building the Adamas live in…kind of reminds me of something from Ghostbusters. Most of the other shots were landscapes of Caprica City.
So, next week’s episode should be quite interesting.
UPDATE (0700 MST): I found this little tidbit on Skiffy’s web site…and it bugs me. It doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure out why:
Considering that most people, when they see this Friday’s series premier of Caprica, may not notice right away that it doesn’t take place in the future. Nevertheless, this compilation (click on the icon) is kinda neat and reflective in a way of this particular Colony’s culture. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of this music could show up in the background on a wireless.
Go Ye and download this set. The Macker Commands It!
Perhaps if RDM & Co. are looking to place cars on that show which would look a little…unworldly…I say they should look at these conversions. After all, Daniel Graystone and/or Joe Adama need to unwind somehow:

ME LIKEY!

Which came first…this?

Or…this?

This is, of course, a trick question. Eerie, isn’t it?
