The spiritual (HA!) leader of Hamas, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, better known to Fans of anti-terrorist/pro-US sites as LGF and the Dissident Frogman as “Saruman,” is D-E-A-D DEAD! Courtesy of the Israeli Defense Force! FULL STORY here.
Matt Drudge’s site had a beautiful posting of it which of course will morph into something else within a few hours. So I took a snapshot of the page. The small version is above, click on it for the full size shot.
Let’s hope that can be doubled up with a positive DNA sample of al Qaeda’s Number 2 man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, in the same condition!
Oh, and what was the reaction of the Palestinians? “Sharon has opened the gates of hell and nothing will stop us from cutting off his head.” Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon personally authorized the attack. And of course Hamas and every other Palestinian terror group has vowed to “kill every Israeli in their homes.” Blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda, typical BS from these guys....

I wonder if this card was drawn by President Bush when we had to deal with the Taliban and later, with Saddam Hussein.
Hmmm...do you wonder what the other card HE DIDN’T DRAW could have been?

Either the Ace of Spades is spilling a lot of beans (what have we been feeding him?)...or there are a lot of Ba’ath Party officials and/or members who are also waiting to face the wrath of the Iraqi People.
Or it could be both....
For many years I’ve tried to persuade my liberal friends that we aren’t out to conquer the world and make colonial enclaves friendly to Halliburton (as they tend to claim). We just go in and defeat the enemy, help them rebuild their country, then GO HOME.
Here is one of the best essays I’ve ever read on the subject. Check it out.

...from both sides of the aisle mind you. Governor Kathleen Blanco of Louisiana:
“I think the merit of whether or not it was a good idea will be determined with our success or lack thereof with the Iraqi effort...If the terrorists take control, then we will have failed. It will all have been for naught.”
So instead of those Democrats occupying themselves with Bush’s National Guard record...all of which has now been released by the White House...why not just MOVE ON! After all that’s what you’ve been telling US for what, six years now!

Who’da thunk it...while Jews are not to eat pork (as an unclean animal), some Israeli rabbis have apparently given the go-ahead to “equip” various pig innards aboard mass transit buses to deter Islamic homicide bombers. It’s a matter of saving Israeli lives.
BULLY FOR THEM! Send those damn terrorists on a one-way trip to Hell!
Yes, I could have said apes**t but hey, I’m doing my best to tone down the rhetoric here, after all, the rest of the world does not want to pay attention to what President Bush is trying to say.
After all, they won’t listen until some city goes up in a cloud of mushroom.
“In the past, enemies of America required massed armies, and great navies, powerful air forces to put our nation, our people, our friends and allies at risk. In the Cold War, Americans lived under the threat of weapons of mass destruction, but believed that deterrents made those weapons a last resort. What has changed in the 21st century is that, in the hands of terrorists, weapons of mass destruction would be a first resort—the preferred means to further their ideology of suicide and random murder. These terrible weapons are becoming easier to acquire, build, hide, and transport. Armed with a single vial of a biological agent or a single nuclear weapon, small groups of fanatics, or failing states, could gain the power to threaten great nations, threaten the world peace.
“America, and the entire civilized world, will face this threat for decades to come. We must confront the danger with open eyes, and unbending purpose. I have made clear to all the policy of this nation: America will not permit terrorists and dangerous regimes to threaten us with the world’s most deadly weapons.”

Amritas asked about my new Blog graphic, and this particular picture.
I took it at the Oklahoma City National Memorial while I was in transit to my new location, on the second day of the trip. I only spent about twenty minutes. Actually, this statue of Jesus weeping is across the street at the church which is, I believe, St. Andrews Catholic Church...the only place where I could park my truck & U-Haul trailer so I could check out the memorial.
It was very quiet. The silence in the middle of the city is quite dramatic. As it should be.
We are reminded that evil not only comes from outside our borders, but also from within. I can see why Christ would weep at this too.

I was somewhat disappointed about the discovery that Viggo Mortenson, who plays Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings, has really naive political views. But on the other hand, John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) knows who to vote for in the War on Terror. His views go into great detail in this interview with Jeffrey Overstreet and will upset the liberals Big Time.
Here’s his view on what the real message is about LOTR (and I agree with him one million percent!):
I think that Tolkien says that some generations will be challenged. And if they do not rise to meet that challenge, they will lose their civilization. That does have a real resonance with me.
Rhys-Davies goes on to reveal that as a boy in 1955, living in colonial Africa, his father told him who the NEXT World War would be between:
“Look, boy, There is not going to be a World War between Russia and the United [States]. The next World War will be between Islam and the West.”
This is 1955! I said to him, “Dad, you’re nuts! The Crusades have been over for hundreds of years.”
And he said, “Well, I know, but militant Islam is on the rise again. And you will see it in your lifetime.”
He’s been dead some years now. But there’s not a day tht goes by that I don’t think of him and think, “God, I wish you were here, just so I could tell you that you were right.”
My God, even back then there were people who could see what was coming. I’m glad we woke up in time. Thanks John!

“Ladies and Gentlemen, we got him!”
Saddam Hussein was captured at 12:30 P.M. Eastern Time on Saturday, December 13, in a raid on a farm located near the village of Adwar, near Saddam’s hometown of Tikrit. He did not put up a fight and no shots were fired. 600 soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division, 1st Combat Brigade, and other Special Ops forces, took part in Operation Red Dawn. In addition to DNA tests, former Iraqi minister Tariq Aziz helped positively identify Saddam.
What does this mean? Well, the Iraqi people finally will be able to live without the fear of his return breathing down their necks! They will put him on trial for what he and the Ba’athists did to their country, and will very likely execute him for said crimes. I don’t blame them one bit.
Some of the reactions from around the world...and my comments on each:
“Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!”
– Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (D-CT).
I hope he can pass the ammunition now too.
“The Iraqi people can finally be assured that Saddam Hussein will not be coming back – they can see it for themselves.”
– White House press secretary Scott McClellan.
And we will keep our word that we will stick around until the job of securing Iraq for freedom and democracy is over!
“I expected him to resist or commit suicide before falling into American hands. He disappointed a lot of us, he’s a coward.”
– Mohammed Abdel Qader Mohammadi, a Yemeni teacher.
Maybe he was just tired of running. You can see it in his eyes.
“What the Americans are doing in Iraq and everywhere else is humiliating. There’s nothing to say we’re not next in line.”
– Samer Saado, a Syrian jeweler, in Damascus.
Tell your boy Bashar Assad to clean up his act and we just might spare your country. That goes for Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Arab world too!
The lies of the liberals can no longer stand. Saddam is captured and the War on Terror continues. And watch for the markets to rally big time tomorrow!

Thanks to al-Qaeda’s attacks in Istanbul, the left’s attempt to paint President Bush as a terrorist failed miserably. And who are our most reliable allies in the War on Terror? Why, those who have a history of English culture and language: The UK, Australia, Canada (Paul Martin will at least try to fix the US-Canadian relationship once Monsieur Chretien is outa there), India, and to some degree, Pakistan (remember, Pakistan was part of India until the 1947 partition).

Sgt. Wasim Khan, of the 1st Armored Division, took a hit in Iraq and received a visit from President Bush...and U.S. Citizenship to boot. He says it’s plain wrong for a Muslim to commit suicide by killing innocent civilians. Sadly, he’s a voice in the wilderness because it seems there aren’t any Muslims out there listening. That’s where us bloggers come in.
