During a Congressional hearing yesterday, Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) questioned Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice about her agency’s policy on employing gays and lesbians. When Rice stated that Foggy Bottom doesn’t have a policy similar to the military’s, Ackerman continued:
“Good for you. Well, it seems that the military has gone around and fired a whole bunch of people who speak foreign languages — Farsi and Arabic, etc.,” Ackerman said, adding that after much money and time were spent to train the linguists and after they passed their security tests, “many of them told on themselves and were fired.”
“For some reason, the military seems more afraid of gay people than they are against terrorists, but they’re very brave with the terrorists. ... If the terrorists ever got a hold of this information, they’d get a platoon of lesbians to chase us out of Baghdad,” Ackerman said, receiving some chuckles from the audience.
i’m trying to picture this and all I get is a comic-book image...and yet it isn’t funny at all.

True to form, and in response to 25,000 online petition signers protesting the former President’s anti-Semitic book, Jimmy Carter angrily fires off a letter to the Simon Wiesenthal Center:
This ad hominem attack only goes to show that Jimmy hasn’t any more legs to stand on, because his “facts” simply do not stand up to the light of the Truth that it is the Arabs’ choice to continue terrorism against the Israelis:
“...the only reason there is no peace in the Middle East is because of Islamic extremists who refuse to compromise, not because of the State of Israel.”
Nothing like going after dead men who can’t defend themselves.

...and I wish I did. I managed to get home just in time to watch President Bush deliver his State of the Union message, via streaming video of course! I didn’t care about how the cameras, from time to time, roamed around the gallery to see who was awake, who was playing sudoku(!), and who was drunk (namely, the senior Senator from Massachusetts?).
No, what got me were two things, and the first item deals directly with the Morse Code issue. I could not believe Speaker Pelosi’s eyes were blinking so fast. I had to wonder if she was transmitting the following message:
-… ..- .-.. .-.. ... .... .. -
I’ll let you resourceful readers figure that one out.
The other item which got me was the scowling look on Vice President Cheney’s face, as in ”I wish I didn’t have to be here tonight,” or ”I pray Madame Speaker doesn’t say anything condescending to me, or else I might tell her what to go do with herself like I did with Senator Leahy a couple of years ago.”
One theme which the President spoke about was the need to work together. He’s been saying that for six years, and do you really think the Donks listened to that message in the past, much less intend to listen to it now that they are in control of the Congress? Not just no, but HELL NO! And there wasn’t a lot of applause or hoopla this time around either; this sounds like more of preaching to the choir, which is probably better since it kept the speech down to about an hour.
So there you have it.

I admit, I hadn’t paid too close attention to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, although I have heard of him (and those are two different things), I will rectify that now that he’s thrown his hat into the ring.
At first glance, Richardson definitely has legislative and policy advantage over the junior Senator from New York, who has held only one elected office...the one she’s currently in. He’s an incumbent Governor, and has on his CV the office of US Representative, and has held the posts of UN Ambassador and Secretary of the Energy Department.
Still, he is a Democrat, and now he will receive my attention as to his stances on the issues.

Shrillary hasn’t been in office for her second Senate term a whole month, and she’s formed her exploratory committee to run for President in 2008. This was her plan all along.
There will now be thousands upon thousands of volunteers who will sign up and work like hell to insure that not only will prevent Shrillary from becoming the next President of the United States, but also to prevent Bill from becoming the “First ‘Gentleman’” of same.

We’ve all been subject to Grits’ perverse views for quite some time, and now we’re hearing from Fritz. Again:
“I think Cheney’s been at the center of cooking up farcical estimates of national risks, weapons of mass destruction and the 9/11 connection to Iraq,..If I had done as vice president what this vice president has done, Carter would have thrown me out of there. I don’t think he could have tolerated a vice president over there pressuring and pushing other agencies, ordering up different reports than they wanted to send us. I don’t think he would have stood for it.”
I’d say he’s pissed off that the current Vice President has done a lot more than he ever did. Still this begs the question: when will we hear from T*ts?
In any case, two words for ya Fritz: UFF DA!

So the Democrat-controlled Congress (the House, at least) have passed five of the six bills needed to RAISE OUR TAXES. President Bush better get his Veto Stamp ready!
But enough of that. Apparently, it’s taken less time, so says Speaker Pelosi, than she “promised”:
The House actually has been in session for more than 72 hours since the 110th Congress was sworn in on Jan. 4. But the clock on Pelosi’s Web site suggested that 34 hours, 5 minutes had elapsed by the close of House business Wednesday.
The San Francisco Democrat’s clock only tracks hours spent on legislation.
So what the hell has Congress done with those other 37 hours, 55 minutes? Inquiring Minds Want To Know.

OK, the Donks got their minimum wage hike through the House by a 315-116 vote (yes, that means 82 Republicans voted for the measure)...but there’s one...little...catch: the bill extends the Federal minimum wage to the US territory of the Northern Mariana Islands, but exempts American Samoa. Now, why is this? Hold on to your hats...
One of the biggest opponents of the U.S. minimum wage there is StarKist Tuna, which owns one of the two packing plants that together employ more than 5,000 Samoans, or nearly 75 percent of the island’s work force. The other plant belongs to California-based Chicken of the Sea.
StarKist’s parent company, Del Monte Corp., is headquartered in San Francisco, which is represented by Mrs. Pelosi.
Go figure!

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was on Capitol Hill defending the President’s plan, outlined the other night, when Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) delivered the following ”It’s For The Children” retort:
“Who pays the price? I’m not going to pay a personal price,” Boxer said. “My kids are too old, and my grandchild is too young.”
Then, to Rice: “You’re not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family.”
I don’t even need to say “what a frakkin’ b*tch!” but I just did anyway, HA HA! This is as low a blow as I ‘ve seen since John Kerry delivered a blow during the 2004 election to Vice President Cheney regarding his daughter Mary. Instead of asking “Have they no shame?”, I will instead declare that the Donks live in the same culture of shame as do the Arabs. Pay particular attention to the truth tables (man, those remind me of those Digital Circuitry days at DeVry!), which lays it all out for the world to see.

Florida 41, Ohio State 14.
Let’s face it, the Big Ten has always (in my eyes at least) held a football attitude of “three yards and a cloud of dust,” and that the SEC has been screwed over so many times by sportswriters when it comes to national rankings. I’m actually glad to see the Gators win this one.
And the Illegals’ protest was a bust too. Not only that, the Donks can get back to work.

And of course the liberals are throwing a s**t fit! They can dish it out, but they sure can’t take it. Man, this really is funny.

Here’s my take on Congressman Keith Ellison’s recent ceremony where he used the Koran...and he’s using his unclean hand! Gee, I wonder why he had to do that?

...Deadheads to the Congress…
I wonder if those who attended this House Warming Party for Speaker Pelosi did so in their faded jeans and tie-dyed t-shirts? Yes, that is a reference to the parody song normally sung around Christmastime.
In a way, I find it amusing that the first female Speaker of the House of Representatives is a huge fan of the Grateful Dead. After all, she represents a district which includes the city of San Francisco. As it turns out, so is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
But this should not surprise me, and neither should this surprise you. After all:
(A dozen years ago, it must be recalled, Newt Gingrich and the Republicans celebrated their return to power with a $1,000-a-plate dinner. Reporters were allowed in.)
I sure hope they can conduct the country’s business without a bong in their presence.

Painting the Republican Congress for the last twelve years as corrupt and without morals, the Democrats sold their political souls to the anti-war left, way before the 2006 elections. Now they are paying the price, as Cindy Sheehan led a shoutdown of the Donks’ first press conference upon taking power, with the chant of the day: ”De-escalate, investigate, troops home now!”
So much for the Donks discussing their proposals for ethics and lobbying reform. The protesters apparently were not arrested. Gee I wonder why.
One particular Democrat showed some public affection toward Mama Moonbat:
Before the chanting started, Sheehan got a hug from Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., the new chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.
Yep, she went down on him too.

So Keith Ellison intends to use Thomas Jefferson’s copy of the Koran in his private swearing-in ceremony with Speaker Nancy Pelosi. His spokesman, Rick Jauert, is using a bulls**t generalization:
“Keith is paying respect not only to the founding fathers’ belief in religious freedom but the Constitution itself.”
What Mr. Jauert is not telling you is that Thomas Jefferson was the first US President to deal with a Muslim threat. Where do you think ”to the Shores of Tripoli” came from?
Maybe, just maybe, this will come back to Congressman Ellison and bite him on the a**.
