Short Work Week

What I liked about Columbus Day yesterday was the fact that I got the day off! Anyway, here are a few tidbits about some up-and-coming stories:

SHENZHOU VI LAUNCHES WEDNESDAY: Almost one year after China launched its first taikonaut, they will send up two more on a multi-day mission lasting several days. Good Luck!
IRAQ STAKES RAISED: As expected, with the Iraqi Constitution vote coming up on October 15, followed by the start of Saddam’s trial four days later, the Islamofascists have stepped up their attacks on Iraqi civilians. Remember the purple fingers guys!
And now, the obligatory STOOOOPID story…
ULTIMATE ARBY’S RUN: You’ve heard of the Beer Run, now check out the results of this stunt!

UN Bombs The Smurfs

Nothing is sacred to the UN. This 25-second ad showing the destruction of Smurf Village was done with the consent of the Peyo family, as part of a Belgian UNICEF fundraising campaign for the rehabilitation of former child-soldiers from Burundi.
This isn’t the first time the UN has reached for the radical depiction to get people to feel instead of think. Who all remembers the explosive soccer ad?
I also took a quick look over at Little Green Footballs to gauge the reaction of my fellow Lizardoids, and found this particular comment which stood out like a sore blue thumb:

“Just remember, when the smurfs start smurfing, there will be smurf to pay. Smurfs will be smurfing each other like there’s no tomorrow. While some smurfs will think this is smurficilious, other smurfs will smurf and smurf, until they can smurf the remaining smurfs in short order.
“Only the smurf survive.”

Tick…Tick…Tick…

Filed under: | War on Terror

The Political Teen is not the only one surprised that CBS actually interviewed former FBI director Louis Freeh about his relationship with Bill Clinton and the agency’s sheer antiquation prior to 9/11. And on 60 Minutes, no less!
Wouldn’t you also be pissed off to know that Freeh had to go to former President George Bush to get Saudi Crown Prince (now King) Abdullah to allow the FBI access to the Khobar Towers bombing suspects, because Clinton himself wouldn’t do it?
Go ye and watch the video (Windows Media Format). The Macker Commands It!

It’s About Time

It was only a matter of time until some politician challenged their state legislature’s black caucus:

Tennessee Rep. Stacy Campfield may seem an unlikely candidate for his state’s black caucus. But the white Republican said he wants to join the group to serve a segment of his constituency better.
But Campfield’s membership to the caucus was rejected and the state representative says it’s because of the color of his skin.
“Only blacks can become full members — full and equal members,” Campfield said. “I think that’s the definition of racism.”

See, it’s OK to have a Miss Black America but not a Miss White America. This is just as racist as the Ku Klux Klan. So tell me, who’s more responsible for perpetrating racism in America?

Domestic Disturbance

Nothin’ like one of these right outside your bedroom window to make your night! I had been trying to get to sleep for about an hour and couldn’t, because some lady (and I use that term sparingly) is banging on the door of a parked car “OPEN THE DOOR! OPEN THE F**KING DOOR! OPEN THE G*DD*MN DOOR!
I was about to throw my window open and yell at her “SHUT THE F**K UP OR I WILL CALL THE G*DD*MN COPS!” when I saw an Officer of The Law handcuff the lady and set her aside while the object of the disturbance, some guy, got out of the car. The cop asked the guy a few questions, then let the guy go. Last I checked, the lady is still cuffed.
Good thing someone else was also not a happy camper besides me. Maybe now I can go back to sleep.

Macker In Hell

Alright, how many times have we been told (by whoever our detractors are) to Go To Hell? Well, five years ago I actually went there!
To Hell, Michigan that is!
When it was frozen over! Shortly after Christmas 2000, to be exact.
Don’t believe me? Well I decided to dig up the photos and put up the proof!

Battlestar Wiki Project

On my old web site (which no longer exists), I maintained for many years a separate Battlestar Galactica page. Over the last week I’ve discovered Battlestar Wiki, an open-source community knowledge repository based on Wikipedia, a source I’ve used for quite some time here. Based on these facts, I’ve decided to contribute everything I have on BSG to this site.
This will be a work in progress and it may take awhile to transpose my knowledge of the original BSG series over to Battlestar Wiki. Once it’s done, it’s done. So stay tuned.

STOOOOPID! II

NOTE to Boy George: Next time you call the Cops to report a burglary...make sure you get rid of your stash first!

UPDATE: Hud has a photo of the guy out of all his makeup! Man, he sure put on some pounds from his Culture Club days!
Oh, and by the way Hud, thanks for the inspiration!

I Don’t Believe This…

..and neither should you! The Nobel Peace Prize for 2005 has gone to…get this!...the IAEA and its director, Mohammed ElBaradei. To top it off, it’s an anniversary year for the peace activists anyway:

The 1995 and 1985 prizes went to ban-the-bomb campaigners, and many experts expected the Nobel committee to also commemorate the 1945 bombing this year.

So they’re merely keeping track, is that right? “OK, it’s 2005, time to give the anti-war movement their due!” A lot of good that will do down the road when the Islamofascist jihadists go for their throats.

Taunting Terrorists III

Nope, not a church sign this time:

I saw this picture of Adam Gadahn (the so-called leader of al-Qaeda in this country) over at The Jawa Report and thought, “Man, this can’t be Photoshopped on ABC can it?”

NOW it is! He is Pretty in Pink and much better looking, don’t you agree?

A Gentle Kick

I have been reading Vox for quite awhile now, and from time to time, she has linked to a few of my articles. In the last couple of weeks, she admitted that she had not yet had the time to add me to her blogroll. Then yesterday, another link to here, declaring that she too disliked Tom Cruise in the recent War of the Worlds movie. So I decided to make a new link graphic just for her, and invited her to add me to her blogroll.
And she did. Thank you Vox!

You Better Shop Around

Filed under: | Axis of Donks

Looks like Ronnie Earle shopped around for a third grand jury to give him the indictments he wanted against Tom DeLay, after the second grand jury refused to do so. Isn’t this what lawyers do anyways?
On the serious side, Captain Ed calls the bulls**t a Bill of Attainder against Earle. The way I understand it, a Bill of Attainder is a legislative act which automatically pronounces a person or group of persons guilty of a crime without going to trial, with subsequent punishment for same. Article I, Section 9 of the US Constitution expressly forbids Congress from passing Bills of Attainder.
I don’t think that would be an appropriate sanction against Mr. Earle, perhaps he should be put through the same wringer that he is putting Congressman DeLay through.

Embracing The New II

If I can poke fun at something like this, it usually means I’m interested! Here’s an example:

Pretty soon I might pull some other scenes out and make my own “photonovel!”

War Of The Worlds

Hey, can anyone seriously compare the recent Tom Cruise film with this re-enactment of the 1953 classic?
I think not!

Iranian Poll

Filed under: | War on Terror

This web site has some interesting ongoing polls regarding the role of Islam in Iran, which was the birthplace of the Zoroastrian religion before Islam’s “entry.” The most interesting question deal with whether Iran should become a democracy or return to a monarchy.
Since online polls are notoriously biased, the results must be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, if these results actually bear out in the general Iranian population (and it might, considering the vast majority of Iranians were born after the Islamic Revolution of 1979), then the first step in combating Islam’s negative influence there may already have been taken. That first step is, of course, acknowledging that there is a problem.
