On the eve of the NFC and AFC Conference championship games....
St. Louis Rams Owner Georgia Frontiere passed away yesterday at the age of 80. She had been hospitalized in Los Angeles for breast cancer.
She inherited the team in 1979 when her husband at the time, Carroll Rosenbloom, drowned while swimming off the Florida coast.
Frontiere moved the Rams from Los Angeles to St. Louis in 1995, a very controversial move at the time; I remembered I asking a lot of questions about it back then, but as it ultimately turns out, the move was beneficial to the Rams, who won a Super Bowl in 1999, and of course to the City of St. Louis.
My prayers go to her family, to the St. Louis Rams organization, and to the Fans.
