War on Terror |
Now the jurors who sat on the Zacarias Moussaoui case begin to speak out…and the foreman tells us that it was just one juror who spared the terrorist. The jury voted 11-1, 10-2, and 10-2 on the three terrorism-related charges brought before them; a unanimous vote on any one of those charges would have meant Death for Moussaoui, and this is the way it’s supposed to work.
Quite understandably, the foreman was not pleased with the decision:
“I felt frustrated because I felt that many of us had been cheated by the anonymity of the ‘no’ voter. We will never know their reason. We will never be able to hold their reason up to the light and the scrutiny of evidence, fact, and law.”
And them’s the breaks. With that said, it won’t be long until we hear news of a TV movie deal from one of the networks, glorifying that lone juror.

I’m glad Moussaoui wasn’t killed. Instead he has to live the rest of his life in a little square cement cell. No human contact other than when the jailers when they chain his arms and legs and escort him to the shower and for his 1 hour outside excersie… where he gets to spend a whole hour within a small cement square and barely gets to see the sky. He’ll never see a living tre again. He’ll never see a lake or an ocean. He’ll never have an intimate conversation with another human being.

As I’ve written elsewhere, I initially reacted (and THAT is the working phrase) of “Kill the SOB!” But after very careful consideration of the facts, I ultimately agreed that he should not get that which he wished for.
