Now we know who Deep Throat is: W. Mark Felt, a former associate director at the FBI. While the information he supplied to Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein during Watergate helped bring down Richard Nixon‘s Presidency, now we will begin to see the other side of the story…
...the other side which cost the lives of MILLIONS. The other side which would have never come out, were it not for today’s bloggers.
Felt is 91 now, he’s probably very close to death. Maybe he didn’t want to go to his grave with this secret. And it’s been said his family wanted to financially benefit from the story too. Hopefully, Woodward & Bernstein and the WaPo will help out...but I doubt it.
Now, the world will finally discover the significance of the Watergate scandal not just for the United States...but for the entire world, and it will be a prime example of the consequences for all the decisions we make in our lives.
Gloat while you can, MSM.

And all these years I thought Deep Throat was Jane Fonda.

All this time, my bet was on Alexander Haig.

This ‘millions died’ meme has been going on now for a few days.
Watergate and RMN’s resignation took place AFTER he had basically ended the Vietnam War. And, being a lame duck he would have NEVER gotten authorization to wage a campaign in Cambodia.
So I find this meme a bit specious.

OTOH, every choice we make...whether it’s when to take out the trash or whether to make love to our spouse tonight (and how!), or what to do with this information we just got from this associate FBI director...they all have consequences.
What if Nixon had been honest and up front about the burglaries and SURVIVED Watergate? I very much agree with Ben Stein’s assessment. Nixon would have found a way to take out the Khmer Rouge, even if the damn Democrats in Congress halted funding for it, just like they did with the South Vietnamese after we left.
Of course that choice would have had consequences too...and hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20.

I read something recently were the FBI did the same thing during the Hoover Administration.... of course it never came to light - like in Watergate.
