Bolton Steps Down

I’m sure every leftist liberal lover out there must be having monster orgasms over the news that Ambassador John Bolton is stepping down from the post come January, just before the Donks take over. President Bush was “deeply disappointed that a handful of United States senators prevented Ambassador Bolton from receiving the up or down vote he deserved in the Senate.”
Damn right! He called a bunch of bulls**t over at the UN, Kofi Annan couldn’t stand it (no matter how pretty his statement was), and neither could the Donks. So he’s gone.
Although Drudge reports that former Senator George Mitchell is being considered for the post, I think there are some other options open to the President:
1) Leave the post open for the rest of the term. Hey, we still have a voice there in the deputy ambassador, who will still do as instructed. Or…
2) If President Bush doesn’t appoint Mitchell, he could appoint Senator Joe Lieberman. If he accepted, this would piss the Democrats off ‘cause the current Governor of Connecticut is a Republican, and he’d appoint a Republican to fill the vacated Senate seat, and with it goes the Donks’ majority!
Or, if Bush really wanted to piss off the Left aisle in the Senate…
3) There’s always Rummy!
I guess we’ll have to wait till next month to see what the President does.
