Remember this design? Well it’s back in the news. The father of one of the Flight 93 Heroes wants to keep his son’s name off the Memorial because he considers it Islamic in its symbolism.
Imagine that.
You know what? He’s right! Like it or not, the crescent is identifiable with Islam; it’s prevalent in nearly every mosque. However, the design committee seems bound and determined to press forward with the memorial, the public’s input be damned. I sure hope this isn’t in John Murtha’s Congressional District, because if it is...well, you know the rest.
