Canada Day

Filed under: Great White North |

I’m told elsewhere that Semaj Ovured was invited to the celebrations yesterday at the Canadian Consulate in Los Angeles. James, if you read this, please leave a comment as to your experiences there.
LyndonB…since you’re a recently-transplanted Canadian, coming from the UK, I hope you can share your experiences on this day as well.
What I miss from living back East is the International Freedom Festival, held every year in Detroit and Windsor, Ontario (right across the river). That, and the shopping in Windsor was fabulous! Two words: milk bags.
And to all my Canadian Friends: Happy Canada Day!

Didn’t really see too much of it Macker as the wife had to work. It was a bit like July 4th lite! A parade through town and fireworks but all fairly restrained. Plenty of beer and barbecues though! Funny as the Hosers up here tend to visit the US for their shopping. The CAD$ has picked up against the US$ making it a bit more realistic. I still find it strange to be able to look out the window and see mountains in another country.
