Canada Votes, Eh

Filed under: Great White North |

Well my friends, tonight was Canada’s Election for the House of Commons in Ottawa. Let’s see how things turned out, but keep in mind, you never know how these numbers will change, eh:
Conservatives: 141 Elected, 2 Leading. Total: 143
Liberals: 74 Elected, 3 Leading. Total: 77
Bloc Québécois: 48 Elected, 1 Leading. Total: 49
New Democratic Party: 35 Elected, 2 Leading. Total: 37
Independent: 2 Elected, 0 Leading. Total: 2
That means Stephen Harper will remain as Prime Minister, this time with a stronger minority government at the expense of the Liberals. And it looks as though the Greens got shut out. I will make an educated guess that if this government works out, next time an election rolls around, the Tories get a majority. May this be a good sign of things to come in the United States, eh.
