Can’t Be This Cheap

Somehow, the estimate of $46 million in damages from last Sunday’s earthquake just off the western coast of Hawaii, resulting in President Bush’s declaration of a Federal Disaster Area, seems way too low. I would think that the damages will end up at least be three or four times that, at a minimum. Thankfully, no one was killed.
Can anyone out there who’s been to Hawaii tell me how the infrastructure there compares to the mainland? I think that would be a good place to start to get an idea of the magnitude of the damage, and how quickly the State of Hawaii can recover from the quake.
