Dear President Putin:
As a citizen of the United States of America, I must commend you for a response you made in the United Kingdom regarding your country’s past, and its comparison to Africa. The way I understand it, reporters were comparing Russia with Africa, and without going into sordid detail, you rightfully said that Russia’s past is quite different from Africa’s.
I put this in the same category as your comment last year to my country’s Democratic Party regarding the war in Iraq, again not going into details, that (in our vernacular) “...the shoe was on the other foot” and they didn’t like it!
In both cases, you told the truth!
It seems that the world has a problem with the press doing their best to rewrite history and not to offend every special interest group. Sometimes, the truth needs to be said, no matter how much it hurts.
And even though our respective governments do not occasionally agree on how to conduct international affairs, I would rather have my President work with you to fight the fight that needs to be fought!Thank you, President Putin!
