Two Sides of the Coin

Filed under: War on Terror |

Yes, there are always two sides to everything. Today’s Example: the United States Marine Corps, aka the Men whose Asses Ride In Navy Equipment Safely. Yes, I can say this, I was a Navy Brat and a former Squid:

HEADS: In Lieutenant General James Mattis, we see a Marine who enjoys kicking ass and not even bothering to take names because by the time he’s through with them they’re DEAD! Just like General Patton:

“Actually it’s quite fun to fight ‘em, you know. It’s a hell of a hoot. It’s fun to shoot some people. I’ll be right up front with you, I like brawling.
“You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn’t wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain’t got no manhood left anyway. So it’s a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them.”

If this guy hasn’t been in Iraq, he will probably see the same opportunities for this type of action in either Syria or Iran very soon! GO GET ‘EM!

TAILS: This happened last night at work. In an effort to contact a cardholder, part of my job allows me to call their neighbors and ask them to take my toll-free contact number over to the cardholder’s residence.
Turns out that one particular neighbor I call is a Marine officer and he was upset that his number I called was on a Marine Base (in Quantico, Virginia) and I had no way of knowing that, given the public database records I have access to. This Marine officer started ripping into me as if I were one of his recruits! I was calm and professional about it and I marked his telephone number as “Do Not Call.”
Long story short to this guy: You stick to your day job and I’ll stick to mine! If you need guidance and/or advice, go see Lt. Gen. Mattis!
