UNC Perp a Terrorist?

For the sake of discussion, let’s give this guy the benefit of the doubt. However, what is known so far about the attack, which took place last Friday, doesn’t look good, and may not sit well with a jury once one is seated for the trial. Here is a short list:

The suspect tells the cops during the 911 dispatch that he wanted to “punish the government of the United States for their actions around the world.” He later tells his interviewers that he wanted to “avenge the deaths of Muslims around the world.”
The suspect also tells the cops that he had been considering such an attack for two years and actually did the planning for about two months prior to the attack.
In the warrant to search his home, the suspect admits that he rented a Cheap Jeep Grand Heresy Cherokee because it could “run things over and keep going,”

I think I’ll stop there. The suspect is being held on $5.5 million bond, which means he won’t be going anywhere unless the ACLU or any of his buds cough up the money and spring him. He also plans to represent himself during the trial. So the first time the guy starts spouting he’s with al Qaeda, there should be a military contingent waiting to take him to Gitmo upon his conviction.
Hey wait a minute...if he goes that route, will he be saying he needs a vacation?
