Whew…That Was Close

In case anyone was keeping track…the site was down for a few days, because the domain had expired and notification e-mails were bouncing back. So I had to wit until yesterday to renew the domain, and all is well. My bad.

Gotta say, I was about to post Where, Oh Where has Macker gone on BMEWS. Glad to see you back.

One more thing, I finished the first three of the Lords of Kobol books. He’s posted a fourth book, in case you didn’t know. I’ve downloaded it but not read it. A very good series. Explains a lot of otherwise inexplicable things, like that Cylon number six Baltar keeps seeing. Seems that Zeus and Apollo had the same problem. Zeus keeps seeing his dead brother Hades, and Apollo gets visits from his dead mother.

Actually Christopher, I got a Heads Up from Trey that the fourth book was being released on such-and-such date, so I was able to download it right away.
Tell me, do you have an iPad?

Hey Macker!

I never did watch the entire BSG series. I’m doing it now. It was weird enough when Baltar sees Number Six. Now Number Six on Caprica is seeing Baltar, in her head. This is really weird.

Yes, I do have the first generation iPad. It has completely replaced my laptop iBook. I’ll admit, I wish it had a dvd drive, or just a USB port for flash drives, but I can rip movies and import them into iTunes. Just takes a bit longer.

While we’re on the subject, I use Calibre as my preferred ebook manager. It will accept just about any format, and convert from one to another. I generally convert to epub format. But Calibre accepts lit, mobi, pdf, prc, pdb, and will convert them to epub, or rtf. I like rtf for some things, if only so I can correct scanning errors in Pages on my iPad. For some reason I find that scanners like to render ‘the’ as ‘die’. Then again, my sources are usually Germanic, so that makes sense.

Wait till you see Baltar seeing Head Baltar! And Six seeing Head Six! Yes, it happens!
