Now the balloon’s gone up again over in the Middle East, it’s been a while coming, since the last time the Arabs fought Israel to “drive the Jews into the sea” was back in October 1973. This time, it’s a whole lot more dangerous, because the bad guys have much more dangerous weapons...and yes, I’m understating the obvious.
In any case, I have a pen pal friend in Israel who I would like to say hello to. I hope and pray that you, your family, and your friends are SAFE as your country takes on Hamas, Hezbollah, the Chinless Ophthamalogist, and Mr. Dinner Jacket. I pray for your VICTORY over these barbarians.

UPDATE (2243 MST): Just got off the phone with Sigal, who called back. She is OK, and she is away from the fighting. Whew. Sigal laments the fact that her country is in the same position now as it was a quarter-century ago.
