The name is BURMA, thank you very much. And the rightful Prime Minister of the country is Aung San Suu Kyi. At least Wikipedia got it right when it listed her occupation as Prime Minister-elect...because she’s never been allowed to take office.
The Burmese junta allowed her to leave her house to meet with a UN Official, specifically, Under-Secretary General Ibrahim Gambari. Now that’s a surprise, indeed. The junta must have figured that they had to throw a bone to the outside world because of the recent riots which involved Buddhist monks and a termination of Internet access by the junta.
One of these days, the junta will fall and BURMA will rejoin its rightful place in the international community.
