Livin’ On The Edge

It isn’t often you’ll see this message on my systems, but in this case I make an exception. For a couple of months now, I’ve been experimenting with Camino, another browser product from Mozilla.org which is written specifically from the ground up for Mac OS X. It’s got a lot of similarities to Firefox, but it is definitely different under the hood. The version I’m running now is a nightly build; hence, the above message. PC users have no need to worry. That’s what Firefox is for...to get you away from the enslavement of Internet Exploder!
One bug which still exists in the nightly builds is that not all the graphics show up on the page if the pop-up blocker is enabled. Therein lies a huge barrier in my book. When Mozilla can take care of that problem, that will go a long way toward its adoption.
Since Camino is, in my opinion, still under development, it will be a long time before it is designated an Official Browser. Nevertheless, it shows much promise and I strive to break the damn thing so Mozilla can fix it. It’s been quite a while since I beta-tested software. Some fun is in store down the road.
