I decided to hop into the truck and take a jaunt over to the other side of the Valley and stop by a friend’s house; I hadn’t seen him for awhile. Turned out neither he, nor his family, were home. Oh well.
In his neck o’ the woods (er...desert actually, remember, my idioms are from back East!) is a 9-screen drive-in complex...and it still runs! Do you know how rare these things are nowadays? They are a product of a bygone era. I think the last movie I saw in a drive-in was Aliens 20 years ago!
And then there was this...this thing which looks like some giant grounded UFO. Actually, it’s the new Cardinals Stadium which is scheduled to debut this coming NFL season. I hate to say this..actually I don’t, since I’m not a Cardinals Fan, but a new stadium isn’t going to bring home a championship team. Ask the Detroit Lions.
