Here’s the situation: an Illegal who happens to hail from Mexico gets arrested, tried, and convicted of Capital Murder in the state of Texas, for which the penalty is Death. During the appeals process, the guy brings up the fact that he FAILED to consult with his consular office during his arrrest and trial and wants a do-over.
The Mexican Government goes to the International Court of Justice, which orders the United States to give this guy a new trial, and President Bush also asks Texas to reconsider. The Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice John Roberts, had other ideas and voted 6-3 that we are not any under obligation to follow what the ICJ tells us to do. In other words, FRAK OFF!
And who voted for giving up our sovereignty? Justice Breyer wrote the whining, dissenting opinion, joined by fellow Justices Souter and Ginsburg. I’m surprised the Old Man of the Court (Justice Stevens) concurred with the majority.
Now when does the motherfrakker DIE!
