Now we know who John F-in’ Kerry picked for his running mate: Sen. John Edwards (D-NC), who is a personal injury trial lawyer by trade serving his first term in the Senate, and had never held elective office prior to that.
Will help the Dems’ ticket? Perhaps no more so than Dukakis’ choice of Lloyd Bentsen did back in 1988. The VP debate will be interesting to watch and see how Dick Cheney will wipe up the floor with Edwards!
In addition, there is the “TORCH” option, and if it comes to that, then Edwards will be in the prime position to step in. But at least, now we know.
