My mom is upset in light of this event and my decision to purchase a firearm (all because of a bad thing which happened when she was growing up). Yes, it is sad this happened. We still don’t know the whole story yet.
What concerns me is the fact that the police are saying witnesses are describing the shooter as “Asian.” This is not a normal description for people from that part of the world...at least, here in the United States; in the United Kingdom, “Asian” is used to describe people hailing from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. Notice the last two countries: predominantly Muslim. Yes, I hope and pray that the guy who perpetrated the massacre isn’t a Muslim. There is such a thing as a Chinese Muslim.
One can only imagine the wrath of the populace if he is. Then again, half the populace (those who continue to vote for Democrats, that is) will roll over and lie down and kowtow to the Islamofascists.
From what I understand, Virginia Tech is a place where firearm possession is prohibited, even those who have otherwise legitimate CCW permits, and Virginia is a ”shall-issue” state. Had a student with a CCW permit been allowed to carry his/her weapon, this event might have had a different ending altogether.
And that’s why I’m moving forward with purchasing a firearm. I will join the NRA and learn how to properly use and maintain that firearm, so I can defend myself, my residence, and those who I care about.
